Ground Lift & Shell Lift - Experience with DS MKII?

Glad you figured it out

I guess you’ll find the USB MK II input more than a good option! Which is the USB cable you kept sleeping in a draw all this time? Let it cook for a while… as other things with the MK II also the USB cable matters IME.

I went onto Euphony website, and they have an updated version of 4C/2C combo now, and I only purchased my Summus2 for less than a year. I will check to see if they offer a trade-in program. Now that AirLens is delayed again, this may be a good option.

I have the Usb running now, the rest of the system is waiting for my wife to wake up. So I should have a few hours of settling in by then.

I would think that with the Stylus software would be a better option.

If your dealer fails with an offer inadequate take into consideration some Innuos products at the same price level. They sound very good and both the PhoenixUSB and PhoenixNET can be added in a second time. Not to mention their Sense App that I’m liking so much. You know why I’m so confident you could like them too.

Well, if Euphony does not take care of their customers, then I may switch ship. My financial picture will be prettier towards the later part of year after my daughter graduates from college.

Keep your wallet grounded and desires lifted! Congrats for your daughter!

When I used I2S, my preferred setting is lifting both I2s inputs, ground others, and lifting outputs, but ground shell.

When I use USB input, I switch to grounding all inputs, and lifting both output and shell. The SQ is quite attractive!

With PST, I don’t know yet. I am already too confused to try anything new now.

It would be nice to have saved separate profiles for each input.

Interesting that you don’t lift the inputs !

Frankly, I just found out I have been listening to Multiwave, and I thought I was on Sine wave for a long time. The combination of Sine/Multiwave/Ground/Lift can drive you crazy, not to mention using different inputs seem resulting in different favorite settings. In my system these different settings usually take a day to sound better too.

I am very sure I have not found the best combinations yet, and I am not sure I ever will. :face_with_spiral_eyes: But the one I have now seemed  nice.

Tomorrow I will try this. Lifting only I2S 1 and USB (the ones I’m using), ground other inputs, lift the ground, and ground the shell. This is similar to my previous setting when using both I2S inputs.

Now I’m curious to see with a better USB cable, will I like it better than the current setting. I already don’t remember why I change to the one I like now😆

That’s exactly my sweet spot (other than shell but it has minimal or no impact ground/lift side at all IME).
Also Ted if I’m not wrong recommends to lift just used inputs…

Almost, I recommend at least trying lifting only the input that’s being used.

Exactly. That is my clear winner!

I suggest people testing lifts to create a table. There’s a lot of variables to keep track of while you test.

Any excuse for a spreadsheet

I am sticking to my “new” favorite setup, which is actually my previous setup. Lifting I2S 1 and USB only (in use), Lifting ground and ground shell. I briefly tried lifting shell too. The sound is a bit too “hot” to my taste. Thus far I do not need a spreadsheet yet

I am not touching Sine/Mulitwave yet, not at all. :ok_man:

Once more on the same boat!

And a shorting plug into I2S #2? The ice on the cake, even if I agree with you, very very subtle difference.

We’re on the same boat as we often do. HDMI plug is working better in our case. You may need to allocate some remodel fund for a better USB cable soon. I don’t think I can go back listen to I2S anymore, not even with AQ Firebird48.
