Gryphon PowerZone

The most recent thing I returned was the Schiit Loki Max.

Partially tongue in cheek and partially addressing the new toy syndrome, where everything new is just spectacular.
Very rare mention of “well that fell short”.

When you are ready for 4 more Rel S510’s send me a PM I might be able to help out. :+1:t2:

I returned the Stack Audio record mat and weight because my paper mat sounds better to me and the weight made no difference even though Josh told me they were developed using their LP-12.

Interesting. I was going to give both a try. Because it’s an affordable tweak I will eventually give it a go.

Good to know. Refresh my memory, which paper mat is in use?

Teac. Roughly $35.00.

Well, the PowerZone is transformational. When I was fortunate enough to borrow a PZ back in December, the Levinson 5302 was my main amp, and the PZ greatly improved the system back in December. While the 534 arrived while I had the borrowed PZ, I only had 1.5 days to listen to the 534, and was mostly without the PZ.

Now that the MU2/GAT/534 are all together and I am familiar with how they sound together, the PZ brings additional clarity, cleanness, openness, air, vibrance, height, imaging, presence, smoothness and magic, wonderful magic. I cannot say enough good things about the PZ 3.10.

Wait until it breaks in fully, and at that point in my system I began to take note of its joys. The initial ride was a bit of a roller coaster ride, especially thinning out the sound with a slight hyped sound.

Now I’m waiting for my Audience cables to fully settle in.

You’re a patient man; unique trait here.
When I installed my Audience Reserve cable to my P20, I was immediately pleased. I heard more of everything. (And I was using my little F7 amp, plugged into the P20.)
Then approx a week later, I was skeptical, maybe even disappointed. Things seemed to dull a bit. Luckily I still had my Front Row HP that was to be traded in and I inserted that and realized that my initial impressions of the Reserve were accurate.
Now, a few weeks later, the Reserve cable and my neural network have burned in nicely.
Still I wish I could afford to keep the FR around as a spare, but nobody ever nicknamed me Mr Moneybags.

With my FR installed across the board I too heard more of everything. My first though was kooool. With a little time, say a day or two, my thought was detail was hyped a bit. The first impression being an expectation bias combined with initial insertion effects. I’ve experienced this on multiple occasions with cables and again with the PZ 3.10.

Time rewards those that wait. That and I’m less motivated these days to broadcast results, seems rather silly.

My PZ 3.10 arrived 8 weeks to the day after I placed the order. A pretty crappy experience, but at least it made it here safely.

Removed my trusty Gigawatt PC4-EVO power conditioner and installed the PZ, all outlets are in use but unless I add more gear I should be ok.

I discovered that the Stealth 20-20 that I purchased for the PZ is about as flexible as a 2-iron, so I had Patrick Cullen build a good-quality short extension cord to allow for easier cable routing.

Now I guess I need to let this sucker cook for a while. The Gigawatt is an amazing unit and has been very reliable, so the PZ needs to step up….we shall see!

Congrats on the PowerZone.
And the improvement should be obvious.

Was not familiar with this make and model…looks like pretty stout kit.

Any U.S. dealers…?

Have fun running in the PZ 3.10.

They are distributed by Mark at Well Pleased A/V who is also the Innuos distributor. Give him a call for a nearby dealer.

I purchased my Gigawatt from Mark years ago, it has been a real workhorse. Highest recomendation.
