I believe Paul noted that the Audeze LCD-X was used to voice the BHK Pre’s headphone amp. They are excellent cans.
They are indeed very nice, a great example newer generation planar magnetics.
Audeze LCD-X - I will be in the three sets I am testing during Easter
I’ve ordered a pair of these:
What appealed to me about them is the use of graphene, which is the material that Magico are using in their speaker drivers.
Neat! Graphene is fascinating onto itself.
Please remember to post your impressions once you have them.
I had my Halcro pre-amp modified at great expense with a headphone input, but I probably only listen with headphones for maybe 1 hour per year on average (I have Senheisser HD600). I have no compelling reason to use headphones, I’m free to play main speakers as loud as a like, whenever I like. Listening via main speakers is so much better than headphones.
(BrodricCommunity Leader - Find 5 errors on the image are on the track again. With a hot inconvenience.)
I am a B people unless I am going to adapt my activities to the surrounding community or farm. That means I go to bed at 0.7.00 when the woman goes to work and gets up at 12.00. From 22:00 until 07:00 I use headphones when working on my computer. It is called respect for the rest of the family members in our houses. In front of those frames, I have a reasonably sweet family that allows everything between heaven and earth.I have three music rooms plus the TV lounge - So the family gives a lot of space for my hobby … Music
Do I play loudly … What do you believe yourself?
The headphones look exciting. Thank you for the link. As ELK writes: I am looking forward to hearing more about and thanking the link
I have invested a small fortune in sound proofing my music room. I can play it as loud as I like, whenever I like, without disturbing anybody outside that room, or outside the house.
I also find speakers to be vastly superior to headphones and relatively rarely listen with headphones. Yet I occasionally enjoy headphones as the experience is so different.
I live in the middle of the woods. My nearest neighbor is a quarter-mile away. No one cares when I practice target shooting at my own range. They would not even notice a bit of loud music.
Tillykke…
That’s great! I wish I had…
You use the Halcro preamp? I recently tried it and had/have a gerat chance to get it… great phono stage… but it didn’t thrill me…I always looked for a mistake connecting it but couldn’t find one.
It’s a bit like with Poul when I build such a room, I also come in the newspaper and the television, etc. But this thread was about headphones. (Brodric Community Leader) So come and put a picture of your cool space my friend.
I have no interest in headphones. I only bought those Ora Graphene headphones because they are a world-first to use graphene in a headphone transducer, and I like what Magico have been doing with graphene in their speakers.
And as for the Halcro pre-amp. It’s still the lowest distortion pre-amp ever made, and low distortion is the corner-stone of my whole hifi existence.
I was asked recently by an analog junkie why I didn’t have a turntable. When he listened to my digital he understood why.
So you bought the headphones simply to support their development? Well done.
I hope you will try them at least once when you get them.
"Brodric,"You’re dull aunt - and we can not see what you’re talking about
Michael, this is uncalled for. No personal attacks, please.
Michael
My S- 800s did not sound at all good using the BHK Pre. As a result, I kept my Samuels Raptor tubed headphone amp in the system.
Mike
The bulk of my audition of the BHK Pre before last Christmas was with the Sennheiser HD800. In my opinion, it is not the best choice to power this particular headphone.
