Luca, your experience with AQ cable lengths confirmed what I was told about AQ. This is good news considering how expensive their top lines are. Other brands may be different. I know some of my power cords come with 1.5M as their min.
SDL, I have heard the same about 75-ohm cables too.
Omega shipping tracking still says a label was created. But USPS’s tracking has always had issues with updates. Monday I should have a better idea of an estimated delivery time.
The tracking number of my Omega has been showing “label has been created” since last Friday. The seller talked to the Post office, and they are overwhelmed with packages. He told me to wait for a couple more days than I should see an update.
It is not likely I will receive the cable this week. I have my fingers crossd that I will get it next week.
If I were you, I would get in touch with the seller and ask him when he will drop off the package. “label has been created” reminds me of troubling times I had with the RAL HDMI cables.
The seller said he dropped off the package at the Post Office late Thursday last week, but the Post Office is so busy they have not processed the package yet. I should see an update within a day or two. We shall see.
Could be the weather may have something to do with the delay. Hope you get your cable soon. Looking forward to what good things you have to say about this Omega.
I sold my Silnote Epirus Ref. USB, and Cullen Crossover2 power cord after one day putting in AMart; I must ask too little for them. The sale will afford me a few inches of Shunyata Omega.
So, I am back to listening to I2S with AQ Firebird48. One tweak that has made this cable sound much better is adding a 3/4 3M tuning ring. Vmax’s tweak on it reminds me of Stealth T-select. The ring does magic.
Euphony Summus2 I2S links work so well with MK2, I even get a green light on MK2 display as if it is a PSA product. If Shunyata makes a Sigma/Omega I2S link, I believe it would sound better than Firebird. I am looking forward to comparing Omega USB to Firebird48 HDMI. I still have a good memory of Sigma USB, it made the USB link superior to I2S by a little, and I hope I can use the memory to evaluate Omega.
I don’t want you to get alarmed or anything, this may very well be an innocent transaction on Audiogon, but I just feels like when I had a transaction with Audiogon before with Brad and RAL, it showed from Audiogon’s tracking page “shipping label created, USPS Awaiting Item” like forever until I told the seller Brad that I want to cancel the purchase, after that he finally sent the package. It wouldn’t hurt to contact the seller again and notify him that according to USPS, the package has not shipped yet.
One reason I do not think this was a fraud is due to the fact the seller has refunded the money fully once. His brother sold it to a local guy without informing him. He had to order a new one and didn’t ask for more money from me. He did not have to go through the trouble to refund me first and take my money again.
Within the next two days I will know for sure because he checked with the Post Office and was told the package will be in the system no later than Thursday.
The seller could be a member of this forum and reads your post. Soon after your post, I received an email from USPS that the package has been scanned and will be delivered on Thursday.
Of course, the package could contain a pile of rocks, but let’s hope not.
it seems to be much more common these days, for sellers to call an item “shipped” once they do the shipping label, but before it’s brought to the shipping service…
Ha! The suspense is killing me too. So, I had to go play golf earlier. Omega is scheduled to be delivered this afternoon. So I should get it within the next 5 hours.
