Really enjoyed this film on making tv’s. One of the things that made me cringe a bit was workers spraying paint or laquer without a mask.
I have 2 professional CRT monitors that aren’t being used because we don’t use them for post production any longer. I was about to give it away to a friend that collects old TV’s. Turns out it’s a bit of a holy grail tv for gamers and sold the 20” to a guy, who with shipping and handling paid about 5 grand for it!!! It had low hours, which most in the field don’t and I still have a 14” version to sell that’s also worth quite a bit.
Now THAT was a tube!
I wonder how many amps a 1950’s or 1960’s CRT pulled? I was reading about modern LCD/LED panels and how few they pull.
I wonder the same about air conditioners from those decades compared to current.
