Trumpets come with various bore sizes; that is, the width of the tubing of which it is comprised. The bore size/width of the inner tube diameter is measured down to the thousands of an inch. The larger the bore, the more difficult it is to play. But the upside is better tone and greater dynamic range.

Trumpet players are competitive. It takes one to change a light bulb, but ten to stand around and proclaim they could have done it better.
