I used plastic rebar chairs. The ones with the large U shaped top that cable fits into nicely.
I bought them at Home Depot, a bag of 25 for about $5.
The price is definitely right and a better sight than notched plastic cups. I gave those cables to a friend and what I’ve been using (with one exception) work okay with the ceramic cable lifters that I think Music Direct still carries. Bought them years ago and they’re okay. I like your idea, though.
Most every morning I start the day doing the NY Times Spelling Bee. The goal is to make enough words from 7 letters to reach the penultimate level of “Genius”.
Today’s “Genius” word was “idiot”.
This reminds me of when audiophiles decide to sell speakers/gear cause we want to go a different direction (wink)
