@umiami91 great vibes and prayers coming your way. Stay positive my friend.
What a great bunch on this forum. If I had to go thru something like this I would hesitate to reach out. Not any more. Thank you to the OP.
Thank you, sir. I needed that. Remember as kids when we all thought hospital beds were so cool because they moved and elevated and all that? All lies. Hospital beds are NOT cool.
On the upside, I’ve got Christmas music on and it’s swinging and jazzy and not treacly, I have a cuppa tea, a beautiful bride who still loves me despite all this and all the load she’s got taking care of me right now, and my kids told me the entire plot of the new Star Wars movie. That’s quite a lot of upside. God loves me and whatever happens here happens. And I don’t have to see the doctor until next week and I have almost a whole week off chemo. It’s a Christmas miracle!
Have a blessed day, y’all. I’m feeling the blessings flow right now and passing them off your way.
Mike
I know, right? You guys are all the best. Thus the subject title - I don’t know what I’d do without you all right now. ALL of y’all.
When your bride is exhausted and you hurt and you just need something, there is nothing like writing a note here and getting a half-dozen responses in minutes, plus a couple DMs…you really are the best.
Mike
It’s great to hear you have such a great, loving family. That says a lot about you. Keep kicking ass!
And a great EXTENDED family of audio nerds that say nice things about me, and especially the saintly Jenn. hugs
Mike
You sound like you never lose hold of gratitude. God bless you for that. Not everyone has that true gift.
Never give up!
Ron

Oh, I lose hold of it all the damn time. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t need all of you guys. Lol.
But seriously, all the people in my life keep reminding me that sticking around vs giving up is the way to go. So I’ll keep trying.
I enjoy both and yup, that looks great…except I prefer my whiskey neat.
Hey, Mike, you know these things work both ways: you get warm wishes from us, but think of how good we feel hearing that you’re hanging in there! Lots of support going on here, Buddy!
Merry Christmas
!
Abso-effing-lutely. Get it in your mind that you’re beating it. Make a conscious decision that you’re a bad mother and you’re not laying down for anything and remind yourself of that fact as often as it takes until you fully believe it. As someone once said “if you’re going through hell, keep going”.
Sir, yes sir.
I have four daughters. So I have some weddings to dance at still, so, press on.
And you will!
Update: Cancer doctor says everything is awesome. I take that with a grain of salt but okay.
Chemo starts again Friday and I have my bone marrow biopsy scheduled for the end of January. That will tell if the chemo actually worked. Once chemo ends I may be able to get back into the office again as soon as February if, and big if, my organs start to heal from the suppressed amyloid plasma cells.
I am going with the awesome part.
Love the homage to airplanes, Dayton, and the Wright Brothers. Reminds me of the good years I spent at Wright Patterson AFB! It is a blessing to have a family that loves you in good and bad times!!
Great to hear! Thanks for keeping all of us updated.
