This has been the worst chemo recovery yet. Sorry to complain but I’ve been piss poor this week. Knowing you pray for me is what I’ve got keeping me going right now. Thank you for that.
It is a hideously difficult process.
Hang in there.
@umiami91 I know from close family experience the misery you endure. The chemicals are trying to kill everything except you and it gets close sometimes. We as a group will all help to keep your spirits up and intact. Peace brother.
Miami,
Glad to hear from you. We all want to hear, so keep on writing.
Changing the subject, if I may, what is the latest on your system. What are you looking to up grade?
If the 'Canes don’t win, let the semi-holes.
Chas
That’s not a rabbit hole you ought open, @cdfoley. Take me down through my upgrade fantasias and I may choose not to come back, lol.
Nothing wrong with fantasies. It’s translating them into reality is when I get into ‘trouble’
Don’t underestimate fantasies. They give you a break, a distraction. You have to allow yourself to “check out” so your brain can rest. Then it can deal with problems/stress better.
Okay. I’ll play. After last night, I need it.
Klipsch speakers. I’d love a pair of Heresy or Forte to have a system that I sit in the floor like I did growing up listening to rock and roll. As sensitive as they are I don’t need to be greedy on amplification. I’d be thrilled with a Stellar 300 stack; something I haven’t heard but trust y’all to sound great. Only other thing might be a Stellar Gain Cell through those Schiit Aegirs. I love the industrial design PSAudio and Schiit practice. YHAT is what things should look like. I’ll grab a Schiit mani for my phono stage (I have a Belari tube phono stage now) and I’ll keep my Pioneer PLX-1000 because I’m not greedy. (Although I’d love to try a VPI Scout or a Schiit Sol just for grins).
Tubes intrigue me but I’m too ignorant to be smart enough. As beautiful as those McIntosh stacks are, I’m not bright enough (pun intended) to go that route.
If the world is ending, I upgrade to Klipschorns just because.
Hey Miami,
You have a nice list of components. I am happy to hear that you like the Klipsch Forte, as I own a a 38 year old pair (Forte 1). They still sound very good. I am also fascinated by the Schiit product line, so is one of my YouTube favs, Steve Guttenberg. BTW did you check out his friend Joe’s DIY horn system yesterday, you must. Joe himself is worth the view; he is a fabulous craftsman.
Chas
As sensitive as those Klipsche are, I’d start with a single Aegir. I doubt you need a pair. No point in spending the money if you don’t need to. If you do need to, you can always buy a second one.
Yeah, but given that this is solely fantasy, I’ll take two. grin
Craigslist has a vintage Heresy pair for $525 now. Very tempting although I’d worry about the age of the surrounds.
Your fantasies are very modest. Mine usually include Pass Labs amps lol
Probably mostly because I lack imagination.
We have one local high end shop here. I’ll never forget that first experience when they sat me down in their listening room and said pick a record.
It was. Transcendent.

Might be fun project to re-hab the Heresy.
Trolling for speakers on Cragslist is kind of fun, just to find the odd ball from time to time like this one.
Wow, 5 way. Talk about dips and valleys!
and x-over nightmares
Off to chemo round 3, session 4. That round is a wrap!

You can have my girl but don’t touch my hat!
That was a surprise gift of love from a retired JAG friend of mine. Who knew she was such a great knitter??
