Tastykake pies, from Philly. Not what they used to be (what is?), but still miles beyond anything else, snack-food wise.
I’ll second that and I myself look like exactly a hobo or someone you would not stop to give pocket money to in the street. Interesting -to say the least- if I am in the VIP boxes of the Barcelona, Bayern or Paris Saint-Germain stadiums, but I honestly couldn’t care less!
You’re looking good mate considering the battle / enemy you’re facing. When you get past this (and you will) then we can get back to the ultra presentable Clooney-esque appearance
OMG I just realised -I’m resembling (our very own) Ted S. more and more!!!
I went in for a heart monitor implant today so I figured I’d clean myself up. Introducing the not-a-hobo look.
Last chemo scheduled for Friday. Fingers crossed that I’ll be up, walking, and eating normally again a week after that. I had a Happy Meal today and it’s stayed put so far. I hadn’t realized apples taste so good. They’re the first I’ve had in six months. My God. Apples are amazing.
Thanks for your prayers. They help. I fervently trust in that.
U of M,
Glad to hear that your last chemo is Friday. You look good.
Its nice to have more than one hat in your wardrobe. I confess to preferring the black knit cap.
Chas
I was trying to honor Neil Peart. But preference noted.
I’m probably going to take a break from posting about my condition for awhile. I don’t want to overstay my welcome in the community with so many off-topic (even in Everything Else) posts. Unless something drastically terrible happens, assume I’m doing fine. If I’m dead, (fairly unlikely in the short term) I’ll leave instructions for my bride to let y’all know. If I’m really doing well, I’ll let you know too. But this doldrums I’m in (the Sargasso Sea from my childhood Bermuda Triangle books) doesn’t need constant updates.
Like I say. It’s possible to post too much and I’m right on the edge of that lately.
Enjoy the music.
@umiami91
Let me know how the heart monitor implant goes. My wife is recovering from a stroke and they want her to have one put in once she gets a little more mobility back.
Wishing you continued progress in your fight!
This is great stuff buddy, over with soon!
All good with the apples but I hope you go to Chocolate Mousse and Italian Truffle stage soon enough.
Thanks for the info. I’m sure it is a similar device. “Implantable loop monitor” is what this one is called. There is a similar box that bluetooths to the monitor and connects to the outside world via cellular connection. None of the docs can figure out where the blood clot came from and think this monitor may lead to some clues. She has always had a bad case of white coat fear so I will let her know what to expect.
Thanks!
Vern
Good luck. I will pray for you and her.
And we will for you
Thinking about you a lot, Mike. Sure hope everything works out well for you. Praying for you too! As they say, “It can’t hurt!”
Can you get the remote in different colors and finishes? I mean - for that kind of money… ; )
I’ll have my 10 year old daughter bedazzle it.
Maybe.
Just saw my transplant oncologist. I’m going on MX chemo. Back to in three months as I wean off meds. Evaluate then re: what comes next. All numbers are good and basically normal for a non-cancerous person. Now we heal.
I wouldn’t be here without your prayers. And without Paul’s generosity to keep my mind off cancer. Thanks to each of you.
I still have miles to go. MILES. But this is the first genuinely hopeful news in a long time. To see the doc actually be optimistic and talk about the way forward spoke volumes.

Yes Mike!
Now that is great news, like music to my ears, as the old saying goes.
Chas
Soooooooo…party at your place? How’s 8 (I’ll bring the beer)?
Great news, Mike! Way to go!
