I’ve watched videos about the jaw dropping moments when people visit the sound room at psaudio.
This is my experience when upgrading to psaudio.
When I first upgraded from the Wiim Ultra to the Airlens I heard the improvement right away. It was more analog and cleaner with less grain.
Then I received an email that the Stellar Dac was an sale for one thousand dollars I couldn’t resist. U had it hooked up via coaxle digital cable.
It was a completely jaw dropping moment.
The next step was to hook up the I2S so I could listen to the dsf files. I heard nothing but static so I paid the extra $500 to go from the Airlens reburshished to the new Airlens.
Guess what? No static but the magic was gone. I heard distortion again.
I upgraded my HDMI cable to a .5m pangea cable from Audio Advisor. No difference.
I hooked up the coax digital cable again and the magic returned. I even used a sub par WBC instead of an expensive Zu audio digital cable with the same magic. Why?
Maybe that’s why the original owner of the refurbished Airlens preferred the coax?
One last thought. The Wiim Ultra sounded better through the coax than the Airlens sounded through the HDMI. Also the Airlens smoked the Wiim Ultra through the coax.
If anybody knows please advise.
Thank you.
