Nope, the fire was with UMG (Universal Music Group).
Difficult to tell these global megacorps one from another
Completely agree. I had to double check before posting. Way back when I worked at a record store I knew UMG and WEA were separate entities, but I stopped keeping track of who owns who a long time ago.
Some years back I sat at the bar for dinner in one of those faceless chains that fill malls across America and cater to corporate lunch and dinner crowds. They had a “get a pint for a dollar more” (koff, koff) “deal” going, and so I ordered one (this would be 16oz. vs. 12 oz.). The kid plunks a 12 oz. straight-sided “pint-style” glass in front of me and wanders off.
I shrugged, was thirsty, and so drank it. When he came back, I pointed out that this was in fact a 12 oz. glass. He begged to differ, as he’d no doubt been unknowingly fleecing the customers on the bar’s behalf for a while. I said, "OK, then give me a bottle of (whatever). I poured it into the glass, which it filled to the brim. To his credit, he looked chagrinned. Felt bad for the kid.
Sophisticated establishment. The “kid” probably had enough trouble just his place of employment on a routine basis.
Might have been unofficial official policy…
That’s a grim read…
Clyde Lawrence’s testimony from the Senate Ticketmaster hearings.
Nature never ceases to amaze me. Also, the magnetic poles seem to be moving towards a reversal. When they flip, it should be pretty interesting.
The title of this article reminded me of a Broadway play from the 1960’s :
“Stop The World, I want To Get Off”.
[Talk about dredging up long forgotten useless information. ]
Does this mean I need to swap ends on all of my cables?
Hopefully the tech stays here with production here as well.
I am sure it’s going to be a mixed bag all dependent on base component manufacturing.
god bless Willie Nelson
…and from a 50 year old music scene, to one that’s happening right now. Like, RIGHT now (apparently).
