Funny thing in CT my co-worker I sent this too runs her towns girl scouts cookie drives said the CT counsel forbids them from doing that. Crazy, easy money… and they are happy to buy.

ach local councils can be the worst.
“The Life of Brian” was banned in many towns in the uk thanks to council pearl-clutching, including the Wirral peninsular.

Just sell them, the free publicity associated with the rift will ultimately result in additional sales, to the CT council’s chagrin.

I’ve enjoyed Girl Scout cookies for years ( I have lots of nieces). I found out too late that they had run out of the Raspberry Rally cookies in my area. Seems that they are available on eBay for many times over the original price.

I never thought I’d see the day when Girl Scout cookies are as valuable as scalped Taylor Swift tickets.

Or USB audio cables.

This is interesting to me because I’ve attended symphony orchestra concerts since the early 2000’s but smartphone usage during performances has finally ended my run.

I was attending a performance of Schubert’s 9th Symphony at the NY Philharmonic last night.
It was sonically amazing and such a delight . What was totally annoying were the various instances through out the performance of people sneaking a peak at their cellphones when they got the least bit bored. The Philharmonic and the Metropolitan Opera make it very known that cellphones must be turned off/muted and not used until the performance is completed.
I just cannot understand how society has become so addled that they cannot focus for longer than twenty minutes w/o having to check their email, messages or TikTok.

Envious you’ve been able to hear the new hall at Lincoln Center.

In Davies Hall (SF Symphony), people aren’t sneaking peaks at their devices but recording video, posting to TikTok and even playing games.

Social media is very deeply designed to produce those little dopamine hits.
Anyone prone to addictive behaviour (which is far far more then would care to admit it) are very easily hooked on this stuff.
Ask me how I know…

The Wu Tsai Theater at the Philharmonic is just an amazing aural experience. I’ve attended a number of concerts this year and was absolutely astonished at the clarity of the hall. The ability to delineate and pinpoint the location of the musicians on the stage and with such wonderful truth to their tonal characteristics just showcases the excellence achieved by the recent renovation.

If any band could afford to do that, it’s them. I know several others have, including Jack White.

Regarding Jack White’s plant, I looked up a YouTube video I viewed years ago that was really interesting. Worth a look.
