Isolation Footers for new P20 Power Regenerator

Awesome, thanks! Once I finish with power and HT upgrades it will be back to tweaking time!

The IsoPods are rated at 250lbs each. I initially had the P20 on just three. Now I have four and I hear no difference with the fourth. All my components have three except my 115 lb amp.

@RonP - yeah, went on their website and it says 4 for amps and Regen stuff ( heavy). I use (4) bronze on my components. I am going Voodoo cause Bordeaux is 1.4in and Voodoo is 1.25in… need room above P20.

You talked me into it–I’m now using 5… I placed the fifth under the presumed-heaviest point of the '20, the head of the carriagebolt presumed to be securing the power transformer… The ‘first’ 4 are quite near the 4 corners.

How do you purchase their products? I went to their website and I don’t see a dealer list or web store. I’m in the US. Thanks.

This is their US distributor -

They should be able to let you know how to buy them. Over here (UK) you just buy them through hifi shops.

Can’t advise re footers, but would be grateful for any evaluation you can give me on the Vandy sub with Treos?

The Cable Company carries their products.

Thanks for the info on where to find these. Much appreciated. Have any of you tried these products on a turntable?

Who has found that putting footers under a P20 makes no difference? I haven’t tried any yet, but I don’t see how it matters. It’s not like the unit itself vibrates.

I had 4 VooDoo Isopods unused so I put them under my P20.
I can hear a difference.
I removed them and I can hear their absence.
So I put them back.

It does vibrate. The massive toroid has a resonant frequency. Different footers will absorb or dissipate or change this energy into heat.

Everything vibrates. Whether it’s audible is the question. Try cheap solutions first like different types of wood cut into blocks or appliance vibration absorbers.

5 footers or 4?

It seems that my P20 has 5 original footers: 4 in the corners and 1 in the center. I wonder if 4 vibration control footers will be adequate, given the strength of the case and weight distribution.

(I am thinking Isoacoustics Bordeaux.)

Use Isoacousitc’s weight charts. The pucks are best when holding within their load design range. More is not better. For example, if the P20 weighs 96 lbs, then three Bordeaux pucks at 36 lb capacity each will be correct.

I believe they top out at 32lbs. 4 would be 76% loading, 5 loaded at 60%. I like the ratio with 5 Bordeaux from a sweet spot perspective. Since the weight of the transformer is static while resting on its rack and not dynamic like while in transit, bouncing down roadways, supporting the 4 corners is fine in my opinion.

I guess I have an argument for each.

Ron, Brett,

Thanks for these comments.

But I am worried about weight distribution and if the center of the unit needs support.

Don’t worry. My P20 has been on 4 Townshend seismic load cells for two years, and it’s great.

The bottom is a pretty thick piece of electroplated steel. 4 is fine and I bet @jamesh will confirm.

5 under a P20? I must not understand the chart. Again, I must need a nap.

24lbs. is the center point for the Bordeux, 32 the limit. 12 for Indigo and ~5.5 for Bronze.

I like the pro Iso-Pucks, full size and mini (I’ve not tried the 76 model) for less $ but I can’t see them so the aesthetic doesn’t matter. If I could see them I would for sure do the nice aluminum finish.
