Isolation suggestions

Got these yesterday on Amazon for £32, about $40. Milled aluminium, beautifully packaged in Jiffy bags and a cardboard box.

The springs are quite stiff and with my 14kg system the damping effect is minimal. Would probably improve if I took some of the springs out. Will probably work better with heavier equipment. I tried several one-size-fits-all feet at my local pro audio store and they damp but none give true isolation. Only Townshend podiums do that.

I have them in place because I wanted to get air flow under the unit and they do the job well.

Thanks Jack!!!

I might try to replace the springs with ceramic balls. Similar to Stillpoints.

One can run anywhere from 1 to 7 springs per foot. More compression without bottoming is best. No damping, only isolation.

If you look through the Nob Sound devices they have several models that use balls instead of springs. I have a set of these.

Very interesting! Thanks again Jack!

I’m currently replacing all the IsoAcoustic ISO-Pucks (16) and SSC flatbases (4) under my system with Stillpoints Minis and Ultra SS. Need to reshuffle the whole racks… Halfway through… Now I’m broke. And someone here suggests that the rubber thing for the washing machine from The Home Depot is good enough… Very funny indeed.
