As for me a sidewise “upgrade” P5 ro P12 hopefully
will yield a similar results. The P5 never had issues supplying
my system the juice it needed. So P12 ought to bring really
good improvements to my system.
Word of caution though as I undrestand what you wrote
about playing the tube system cold…5 min on may be enough
for the filamints to have warmed up the cathodes on the tubes
sufficiently to emit electrons without otherwise “stripping” the
cathode coating and damaging the tube.

Just saw the pix of your system…those Macs are quite the ticket!!!
I got a glimpse of the tubes…are you running kt 120s or 150s seemed to big for
kt88s.
Those kt88s 120s 150s can be pricey to be matched quartes or sextets.
be patient and let them warm up thoroughly.
And yes if a P20 found its way here along with the required muscle to install
that would be wunnerful…
Glad you are enjoying the P20. Several forum members have attested to its merits and
it’s improvement with a good power cord in the 20A slot. Don’t want to bias the listener,
but you should hear good things with the SR Alpha NR and even better things with the
Sigma. Not suggesting an arms race, but more of the P20 is revealed with the best cords,
as much as one finds with a good DAC and cord combo.
