I bought mine new
yes. warranty ended in July ![]()
Thank you.
The last time I dealt with PSAudio service, I mailed back my DS Jr. many times…each time they said there was nothing wrong with the unit.
Everytime I sent it back it cost me $75.
Finally I gave in and traded it for the Sr.
I really dont want to go down that path again.
They will ask me to send it in, I am certain, but…I might as well at least contact them about it.
It is not the limiter, but thanks.
I do not have an LG
OK,
I sent customer service a message.
We will see what they say.
Thank you everyone,
T
I’m sorry to hear that about your DSJr. I’ve had my Jr for going on six years without an issue.
Intermittent problems are the hardest to diagnose. Time to think outside the box…semiconductor devices , chips diodes transistors, of all types, are affected by static electricity and temperature.
If a device took a hit from static electricity during manufacturing its life span could be reduced drastically. A temperature related failure could manifest itself after the unit has been powered up for a while. Here’s the “outside the box” approach… I suggest the following…set your oven to the warm setting or as low as you can set it. Let it come to temp then shut it off, thereby creating a heat chamber. Put the unit in the oven letting it come to temperature. Don’t walk away. After some time take it out, hook it up and see how it functions.
There’s a good chance this will cause a temperature related issue to produce a hard failure.
When you speak with service ask what their thoughts are regarding thermal and static electricity failures.
If this approach causes you concern DO NOT DO IT.
It has worked for me, but I’ve been at this for decades and I’m a bit unconventional.
It’s none of my business George but it’s a DS Senior, not a junior (although your observations are possibly applicable to either).
Of course it’s your business, Dan. This is an open discussion. All responses are welcome IMHO as long as they’re not malicious. Even then; bring it on I say. I’m a NY Yankees fan! There’s not much that bothers me.
All good✌️
I confused authors. ![]()

I…think I’l pass on the oven trick.
But thank you for your idea.
T
I don’t blame you, T. I can be extreme at times. I’m looking forward to hearing what the resolution is.
Geo
This is the response I received.
I will try this tonite.
Can you try this. Unplug everything from the unit. Inputs, outputs, power cable, everything. It’s especially important to unplug the i2s. Once you do that leave your unit unplugged for at least 2 hours and if possible overnight. This allows the capacitors to fully discharge in the unit. This will sometimes fix that problem! We’ll have a member of the team do more in depth troubleshooting with you if that doesn’t help solve the issue.
Worth a shot.
And then see how it tastes. ![]()
…like burnt toast.![]()
Ah the KISS approach. Good thing I’m retired.
This is how I reheat leftover Calamari.
I bet the DS would taste better than used Calamari
Reheating leftovers is as critical a task as the initial cookery. Low and slow is the key.
I am not sure I’d eat “used” anything, but leftovers certainly. Though I do remember once chewing a girlfriends gum on a dare.
A little bit of Frank’s hot sauce to top it off…I do put that !$&? on everything. IC étouffée with a side of roasted DS. ![]()
