CLASSIC…
Do you still own the two helicopters or do you just have the one now ?
Regrettably I had the opportunity to do that 20 years ago but didn’t…now, that land is worth $1million more today than what it was offered to me to buy then. The biggest missed opportunity in my hi-fi existence I’m afraid.
What’s the odd million or two to you.
Only 2 helicopters?
You must have me mistaken for somebody else…
And yes, I’ve flown them all, and many others, all over the world. Even in places where music is forbidden. And if you think hi-end hi-fi has some crazy prices, just one plastic door knob in one of those helicopters, which said door knob happens to have a Ford part number, costs a thousand bucks (so I’m told).
Isolated footers make a difference. I’ve been using these from Eden Sound, and they made a huge difference under my tubed Ayon CD player. Although for whatever reason they didn’t make much of a difference when used with my PS Audio gear.

How much did they cost, Gary.
No doubt you will have them in stock. At such a cheap price possibly under the bedside radio/alarm clock ?
They sold for around $100 a footer, pretty reasonable. I believe I paid $250 for a set of three. You can also order them with different bearing material. Brass, ceramic, and then there was one other material available, which was their top of the line, don’t remember what it was called though.
Brodric will have them if they are expensive, rare and obscene - more than likely the balls are formed from Rhodium …
Thanks.
The bearing actually doesn’t roll, which is nice, equipment is more stable.
The bearing - despite not rolling - doesn’t skate across the surface, taking your hi-fi gear with it?
I believe it was some sort of synthetic material. And those are the ones I bought, because he highly recommend them, and offered them to me at a discount. I was really surprised how much they elevated the sound of my Ayon CD player.
Probably helped so much because there were tubes on board.
Nope…sensibilities need to be restored…the aiming point now is the thing that starts with E and ends with C. I’d like to go to Japan and watch them build it.
Nice. I like that Ayon stuff. I used to own it.
Indeed. I had a Rega Isis Valve model CD player and it benefitted from isolation supports whereas I didn’t notice much difference with the SS model Rega Isis…
Exactly. My power cords are ridiculously stiff and heavy, and when I had tried roller bearings in the past, they failed miserably, because the equipment would not stay put.
Which Ayon gear did you own? I’d still like to try their CD 35 player.
