I assume he means Memory Player. Better known to us old-timers as PerfectWave Transport. Could it be the laser reading the disc?

It’s the light from the candle the PS Audio genie carries. It’s a little dark in there, after all, and we wouldn’t want the genie to trip over something. You didn’t think the magic sound of the PWT came from cold, sterile electronics, did you?

stevem2 said I assume he means Memory Player. Of course! The abbreviation confused me. The player opens like the DAC. Look up the instructions for converting a PerfectWave to a DirectStream and you will see how to do it. It is easy once you know the trick.

What is a MP transport?

You are probably seeing a circuit board LED. You could open the unit up and block the light with tape, a bit of paper, or LightDims (click).
