Nakamichi Stasis

Sorry for seeming odd, I was replying to Karlis’ solicitation on Nakamichi Stasis products.
These were not directly designed by Nelson Pass but Nakamichi licensed his Stasis circuit designs.
I’ve owned a few pieces, the last being a CA7, PA7, CR7, ST7 system with Nakamichi monitor and Genesis IM8300 speakers.
The amps were OK but not a patch on what followed; PS Audio IV/2C, Michi, Counterpoint, Quicksilver.
All sounded better but with the exception of the Michi pieces, were not as well built or reilable as the Nakamichi gear.

That one gave me a chuckle

I like history and learn more about my system. So I find that Nakamichi tested equipment with B&W 801 loudspeakers. It was well regarded at the time.

… Decades ago I used a Nakamichi BX300E to record radio programmes and LPs. It was refurbished two years ago by a local repair shop. Sometimes I already use it to get that analogue touch in sound or to rediscover performances of the past. Great stuff. Nakamichi is legendary. Also their amplifiers. But from another time.
