New Listening Room

I was in Boulder for a conference last week and was able to visit PSA to listen to the FR10 and FR20 in the beautiful new listening room.

I was welcomed by Caleb, who took very good care of me, and was able to spend quite a bit of time with Chris answering my questions about the design of the Aspen series- driver technology, placement, room size, etc. I even had a nice chat with Paul.

The listening experience was exactly what I needed to get a sense of what these speakers really sound like after reading so much about them and was invaluable for the decision I will need to make as well as room treatment considerations as I transform an office/studio to also function as a listening room.

I will just say everything you’ve read about these speakers is true, imaging, soundstage, naturalness of timbre and tone, seamless integration of the bass to mid to tweeter all add up to a presentation that just had me enjoying the performance and forgetting that I was listening to speakers.

As far as my comparison, we started with the FR10s, I could be extremely happy with these as end game speakers. When we went to the FR20s the biggest difference for me was the impact and fullness, this really impressed me. If I can figure out how to fit these in my room they will be my next and probably last speakers. If not, I will be very happy with the FR10s as my end game speakers.

If you can get to Boulder you should really make an effort to take the tour and spend some time listening in the new room.

Thanks again to everyone at PSA for their time and graciousness.
