New PS Audio speakers?

At first glance that seems a bit much. Any idea of the size and weight?

They are floor standers but not very big. Here’s the description:

The LSA-20 Signature is a 3-way 4 driver floor standing column design that uses a custom LSA 1” silk dome tweeter with a compact neodymium XBL2 magnet structure and a shallow waveguide to better integrate with the midrange. The tweeter is coupled to a single carbon fiber LSA custom 4-inch XBL midrange, dual 6.5” LSA XBL2 black anodized woofers , and three rear mounted 5” x 7” sub bass radiators. The Signature uses a computer designed 4th order Linkwitz Riley acoustic crossover with an 88dB in room sensitivity (2.83 Vrms @ 1 meter) and 8-ohm rating. The LSA-20 Signature has an in-room response from 25Hz to 20 kHz +/-3dB. The LSA-20 Signatures are available in a satin finish Chocolate Rosewood with magnetically attached grille.

With that, I am assuming that part of the $600 has to include labor at their end, a “restocking” fee.

It makes sense to me. A little steep, but I do understand.

I also understand completely. I brought it up as cannon fodder for the naysayers that think these back and forth shipments are not value adds and therefore must be free both ways. So here is a $3000.00 speaker that has a 20% return shipping and restocking fee.
My Sasha’s were $1300.00 for truck freight insured and I was happy to get them shipped for that money. It was way less than driving 1000 miles one way to pick them up

We are exactly on the same page. For cost containment I do my best to buy gear as close to home as I can. Either driving distance or at least on the West Coast. Yesterday I missed a P15 well within driving distance. I hesitated… the kiss of death for desirable gear in outstanding condition.

But…A 30 k return would be a 6k loss…not very accommodating! At that cost on any return… I would pass on a possible purchase.

Hi Vince, What did the P15 sell for if you don’t mind me asking? Thanks

$4750 for an advertised eighteen month old, 9/10 with boxes, remote, and owners manual.

I’ve seen lower, but the photos looked very good and it was just a few hours south of here. It was dumba$$ of me to hesitate. I am old enough to know better. Perhaps this is a sign…

Maybe there’s a better deal for you in the not so distant future! Thanks for the info.

I think when PS Audio has their sale on regenerators a new P15 is around that price.

Lol - Isn’t that the truth? My list of “possible” gear is long, so I am pretty much teased by something nearly every day. Currently my most focused hunts are for a P15, a mint Pioneer RT-707 (R-T-R rabbit hole awaits), a McIntosh MX123 and MC257, and a pair of BHK 300’s.

The Pioneer will clearly be the least painful from my CFO’s perspective. There’s a certain eye roll that I fear.

Fun fact, XBL2 (magnet/gap flux tech) was originally developed by Adire Audio. A place that a certain @Chris_Brunhaver used to work at. I may be wrong but I think the FR30s use XBL2.

Cool beans as they say. :+1:

Here you go…Second chance knocking at your door!

Sadly, it’s black. The rest of my PSA is silver.

Then again all of our Home Theater gear is black.

You may be on to something…Thanks!

Your welcome. I’m sure the seller would drop the price some to ease the color angst…

Looking at that ad, I see two things that strike me as odd: 1) It’s used, yet a 10/10. I consider 10/10 as Brand New, not used; 2) Why would anyone send something that heavy back to PSA for a checkup before a sale if it was working perfectly? It’s a beast, shipping must have been at least $100 each way.

Yes, I know this is the wrong thread. Sorry.

My thought exactly, but maybe it wasn’t working perfectly before it went back for a “checkup?”

I wouldn’t interpret the Grading Scale for a repaired defective unit as 10/10.

But of course this is speculation. Perhaps the owner was just being cautious and had a pre-sale inspection performed. If so, it’s very generous to not reflect their efforts in the price.

Buchardt Audio has a EUR 50 flat fee to return their speakers. EUR 1800 to 3050 bookshelf speakers. Very convenient, never used it as I heard the speakers before and their quality was confirmed in our own room.
