On their way!

Great timing as I am also testing out new Shunyata Research digital cables (Cobra & Ananconda) and their Python Speaker Cables. The Stellars will replace my mono pair Emerald Physics 100.2 SE amps and Audio Sensibility Statement digital and speaker cables. Stay tune for updates. Exciting!

Excellent. I did not sign up as a beta tester but did pre-order a pair for my second system. Looking forward to the beta tester reviews!

Nice! Ironically I traded in an ep100.2se for discount on the gain cell dac. which is sounding great now that I use a usb to i2s bridge with femto clocks =)

I have also have that amp and am looking forward to your impressions. What speakers will they be driving? I have Emerald Physics 3.7’s. Pretty efficient so am wondering if they high power of the stellars would be too much.

Thanks

Brent

Brent,

I have the B&W 805D2 monitors but noticed more power is better. Initially, I only had one EP 100.2SE and after adding a second one in a Mono setup there was a noticeable improvement in having a wider and deeper soundstage.

The M700s arrived today so just some brief initial impressions. Each amp was double boxed and unlike some of PSA’s other product packaging, this did not use the trampoline design (which I think is ingenious) but more of a slit and tab layout with foam cushioning and plastic wrap. Worked well nonetheless and I did not encounter any torn corners like some others did with the S300.

Also, I am so glad PSA took more time and effort to address and fix the quality of the casings. I believe it paid off as both amps’ black finishes were evenly coated, had a consistent smooth texture overall, and all of the screw heads were flush. The rear panel was clean and all of the terminals were secure. I was a little surprise at the weight feeling lighter than I would have thought at 17 lbs. but certainly made it easier to maneuver around in my stereo cabinet.

Hook up was straight forward and I played for about 3 hours just to ensure no issues were present and none were encountered I am pleased to report. These will be compared to my Emerald Physics 100.2SE amps. Understanding that these have had zero breakin my very first impressions are they were very lean sounding but the potential is definitely there for a wider soundstage, layered dimensionality, and deep bass as they break in. I will follow up with more in the next couple of weeks as I am able to spend more with them.

My system is fairly simple and consists of Primare CD31 (transport), Primare SPA22 (pre-amp), PSA DirectStream DAC, PSA Powerplant 3, Shunyata Research Anaconda digital IC and Python speaker wires, VooDoo Renaissance ICs, PSA AC-5 and AC-12 power cables, PSA Powerbase, Sumiko S9 subwoofer, B&W 805D2 monitors.

Thanks! Keep us in the loop as they open up.

I'm wondering if you've had sufficient time to break in the M700s and get an impression of their sound.
