Has anyone ever ordered PS Audio gear from a Canadian HiFi dealer? I made a down payment for M700 Monos a month ago, and they’re now saying the shipment is held up at customs, which I find surprising. I bought them from an official dealer for PS Audio, Quebec Accoustics near Montreal Quebec Canada. Yup I do live in Canada ….
Might want to contact PSA directly and verify if your dealer actually ordered the amps when you paid him or waited until it was convenient for him.
+1 @dawkinsj
For Canadian Market, if it’s not stock, now I don’t buy! my recommandation
Many business are struggling now or switch brand often!
QA is a good store, many years now they are in the market. They started selling Emotiva for Cinema room!
There is no reason, for delay, except they purchase from the distributor in Toronto. If he is out of inventory after the huge black Friday sale he did and boxing day sale they also did.
Like your M700 mono, was 2999$CAD for a pair!
They will struggle if distributor is cancelling the distribution. And normally distributor are trying to make huge order to keep cost down.
BTW
QA, made a huge switch to McIntosh in November who offer better margin, like other store in Quebec city!
Brand goes and gone, in store from Quebec and Ontario very often. It is more stable in Ottawa greater area! and Greater Toronto Area!
the Canadian market in general is controlled by distributor, seller don’t have a word to say!
And in general we overpay our product!
Distributor without knowing it, they push customer to direct sale on startup company and greedy Store close one after another!
you better spend a weekend in Burlington USA, spend a weekend there, buy music downtown. Beautiful music store there and ship the product to your hotel, or make a deal with a storage house there. They will received your order and wait for you to pick up.
If I remember well, the amount of Duty free purchase for a week spend in USA, is about the amount of your amp! when you come back you declare and pay taxes on it, it will be faster and cheaper to!
and Wife will enjoy spending time in the beautiful Burlington hill or orchard there or skying!
Or as @dawkinsj suggested!
Or look at other alternatives. The M700 amps are almost a decade old design with ICE modules much older than that. Technology has move on a lot in that time. Take a look at even the NAD and Gold Note Class D designs that are readily available in Canada.
so the S300, is how many century old? just curious?
Oh well, 9 years old, I will had that to the phono-stage!
that explain, I had so much problem register the warranty, probably a exchanged amp, that the seller did!

Should buy a McIntosh/marantz, hummmm nah!
They have arrived!! Thanks for all the feedback, Super excited, I set them up and they are making my Focal Theva No2 floor stand come alive! I have a small room 11.5 x 10 but for now it meets my needs until I can audition the FR5 or 10 at the Montreal Audio Conference in March. yes I am aware of the age, I was looking hard at the Advanced Paris new Nevo line as they look and sound sweet but I really wanted separates.
Love the advice of going to Burlington, As I mentioned below ironically they arrived today. I did buy from QA Mcintosh MH200 Headphone Amp, but the price point and style of the McIntosh of Amps, Preamp etc… are not fully in my personal taste.
look foward to listen FR5!!! to replace my roomy 1313 Elipson! now that I understand how to tweak Sub!
look foward to listen a Six pack sub to!
my room is 17 x 17.5 feets!
Speakers placement 4 feets from the back wall and side wall!
Still, in 2022, ordered on a leap of faith a priceless Zu speaker that I have sold six month later it was bright as a surprise Deer in front of a car at midnight!
I don’t ear often Zu on forum, most of the time, they are use with small amp tube!!!, that’s what I read. Maybe a future thread!
