Hi folks, I just purchased my first PS Audio gear, the M700 Mono Blocks, for my new Focal Theva 2 floorstanders and Eversolo A8. I’m waiting for them to arrive since the local distributor in Laval, Canada, didn’t have the black ones in stock. Any tips for connections when they get here? I also have a McIntosh MHA200 headphone amplifier and a Rega Planar 3 with the Rega Phono MM. I can’t wait to hear the FR5 at the Montreal Audio Show in March, then hopefully sneak a second pair of speakers into my little room without the wife noticing. Thanks, folks!

Hook it all up, listen for several hours to the music you know well, spend a day or two fiddling with speaker placement, and now sit back and enjoy for several months before you let that nasty audiophile bug take hold again. After all, did you spend you money to acquire a great system or to endlessly tweak it? I have two systems, both with M700 and Paul is going to have to do a hard sell to convince me I need to “step up” to something in the new PMG amp line. Enjoy!

Welcome aboard! I’ll be interested to know which you end up preferring feeding balanced vs SE. I really like my A8 but don’t use its preamp function.

I am waiting with anticipation for their arrival, not sure why the delay shipping to Canada, but my local audio store where I bought them said this week… so will keep you all posted. I am chopping at the bit to listen to them.
It’s been 25 days and my order still hasn’t arrived. My dealer says the units are stuck in customs, but at this point I’m not so sure — I’ve ordered other items from the US recently and they all arrived within 1–2 weeks max. Has anyone else had issues with deliveries to Canada lately?
In the meantime, I picked up the Fosi Audio BT20A Pro HiFi Amplifier (300W ×2) as an inexpensive stopgap. Surprisingly, it drives my Thevas really well, which makes me even more curious about what the M700s will be capable of when they finally show up
Might be weather in US. Sent PMG DAC back to Boulder for spa treatment and it took 9 days instead of 2. Something I learned years ago about airline delays may well apply to ground shipments as well. You may be flying between cities each of which has perfect weather but have your flight delayed by weather. When bad weather is spotty, clear airports will hold landing slots for possible diversions from those that have bad weather. Perhaps when bad weather slows deliveries, the major companies divert resources to ensure medical supplies and parts to keep assembly lines running get there on time.

So I have hooked up, and initially I was disappointed in Focal Speakers ,but that is because I tried its shortly with Rega Amp and then a Marantz 60n Amp until I decided to return them for the m700’.s Now I am just enthralled listening to music. Never knew music in my own home would listen so engaging! Really need to hear the Aspens hope to see them at the Montreal Audio show.

Good luck with the M700s. I absolutely love mine (going on about 5 years now), even with all the suggestions to bump up to the 1200s.

Thanks Craig , I am enjoying the heck out of them, cant believe I waited so long to jump into real audiophile level of gear. I have spinning LP’s and listening on Roon 3 hours each evening.
