P12 + BHK Signature 300 Monos

Hi Everyone,

I recently picked up a PS Audio stack that I’m still learning. I wanted to ask a couple questions from the community to help my understanding and to try to get the most out of my gear.

I’ve never had a power regenerator, conditioner, or any power treatment but I watched some videos by Paul and the basics of it really make sense to me and I was super pumped to add a P12 to my system. However, I did see multiple videos by Paul and others that have mentioned not plugging the amps into the power regenerators. At the same time, I see the high current outlets on the back of the P12 and in my first posts about my gear, plugging in the mono blocks was recommended so I went ahead and gave it a shot to begin with. To be honest, it sounds a heck of a lot better than my prior setup but basically everything in my system has changed and I don’t actually know the capabilities yet. I was hoping you could look over what I have and my suggestions on what I plug into the P12 and where. I just checked and I think my system is drawing ~406W and ~5.11A at volume based off the P12 display.

Should I plug the Monos into the wall instead of the P12 or are the capabilties of the P12 enough for my amps as well? If I unplug the monos from the P12, what would I be best off moving to the high current outlets or am I better off leaving the Pre, DACs, and SACD in the other zones? Thanks.

Try it both ways to see which one you like better.

If you end up with the power amp in the wall don’t move anything to the high current outlets.

If I understand correctly, the high-current sockets merely ensure that the power is ramped up gradually. This helps with a few components that emit an inrush current, so you don’t have to run to the fuse box to reset the house fuse. After a few seconds, all outputs are absolutely identical. And you can safely connect the 300 series monos to a P12. The P12 never reaches its limit.

Using a power regenerator like the P12 can make a noticeable difference in sound quality for both amplification and source components. Many setups show improved imaging, detail, and dynamic range when the preamp, DAC, and transport get clean power separately from the monoblocks. High-current outlets are designed specifically for amps, so the system can achieve both stability and clarity without compromise.
