I currently have PS audio M 1200 mono blocks. Spatial Audio Raven tube preamp , Zesto andros deluxe 2 phono stage , eversolo t8 streamer lta Aero dac and vpi prime signature turntable. Speakers are fr 10s
For power I have. Wall - deep core 1800- audioquest Niagara 1200
My question is would I benefit from adding a p3 for my source components only ? I would run one outlet from the deep core to the Niagara and just leave amps plugged in there The other outlet from the deep core to the p3 with the source components
Any other recommendations would be appreciated
The p15 is out of stock obviously so no go on that
Your Deep Core 1800 is AC Power Line Conditioner and the Niagara 1200 is a âNoise-Dissipation & Non-Sacrificial Surge Protectionâ device. If you purchase a Stellar P3 power, or any PS-Audio regenerator, you will NOT need either of the above devices. I use a Stellar P3.
Thanks for response. If I went p3 I was going to keep the deep core 1800 and plug the 2 amps in there and use the p3 only for source components unless I would get an appreciable sonic benefit by plugging everything into a p12
Every system and a/c power situation is unique, so my experience may not be applicable to yours. In the past I had a BHK250 amp and BHK preamp. I added the P3 regenerator and its effect on the BHK pre was like adding a next level up preamp, noticeably better resolution and the usual description one reads of a âblackerâ sonic background. However, that improvement has not been found on other front end equipment. I currently alternate between a Luxman C700 & Modwright LS99 & LS 36.5 preamps. I also use an Auralic Altair G2.2 streamer and RCM Sensor II phono pre front end gear.
Out of long standing curiosity about Japanese passive conditioning distributors I bought an Acoustic Revive Ultimate RTP-2 for my amps (Modwright KW99 monos and Luxman 700) and an Audio Mijinko AC Energia AC-4 for the front end. The Audio Mijinko is unknown in the USA but is designed and built rather similar to the ideas Acoustic Revive uses.
Within a few days of using the passive conditioners the PS Audio P3 was packed up and shipped to TMR for resale. There are several reviews of Acoustic Reviveâs distributors online that fully align with my experiences. Rather than bore you with my less than professional prose, if curious, those reviews are readily available.
I live in a suburban neighborhood with fairly recent underground electrical lines and there are no industrial clients anywhere near us on the electrical grid. In my situation, the negatives of the P3 regenerator outweighed the positives for most front end gear (judging only by the sonic results.) In the case of someone with an older electrical grid sharing power with noise generating neighbors on their grid, they probably would have a different perspective. I never used one of PS Audioâs more expensive regenerators so that could have given different results.
I also replaced my previous old First Impression Music a/c outlet feeding the front end with an Oyaide R-0 outlet and that was a very obvious further upgrade in sound quality. (Chris VenHausâ âcooked and cryoedâ version) I had a hard time believing an outlet could so obviously improve sound quality vs. an already high end outlet.
The Stella P3, or any of the other regenerators from PS-Audio are designed specifically for the class D M 1200 mono blocks.
Plug them all into the P3 Power regenerator.
Sell the Deep Core 1800 AC Power Line Conditioner and the Niagara 1200 because, I promise you, they are just not needed with a power Regenerator.
In my listening room I have 20 amp dedicate line and a Stellar P3. I got the P3 because where I live the power voltage fluctuates wildlyâmy turntable could not hold a steady speed, and power line was âdirtyâ b/c I live near high voltage transmission lines and I am nearly the last house on the subdivisionâs circuit. My system had noise in the silent passages of music, hiss with no source playing, highs were almost non existent on my Maggie 3.6rs.
When I installed my Stellar P3 i was ABSOLUTELY STUNNED! The quite passages were dead silent, the hiss vanished, the bass was fuller, the highs were crystal clear.
I swear on my motherâs grave, you will be stunned too!
Akubackiâs post makes obvious how different circumstances give such varying results with power conditioning related products. His post made me realize Iâd forgotten to mention I too have used a pair PSA M1200 mono amps in rotation with other amps for years. I didnât have the same transformative experience using the P3 with them but they did no harm to their performance. I was surprised to find that whether I used them in the regenerated or unregenerate outlets, the P3 never showed any signs of working hard. My speakers are average efficiency and impedance.
