I’m about to buy a Perfectwave MKii but i still have questions :
=> would the perfectwave MKii in the future provide some DSD capabilities through HDMI (i2s) ?
=> I have a lumin renderer (http://www.luminmusic.com/specification.html) that is able to output DSD through HDMI to a DAC : would this HDMI (I think i2s) compatible with the perfectwave mkii ?
=> I have also another renderer (Ayon NW-T) with a i2S through RJ45 plug : is there any chance to make the Perfectwave MKii and the Ayon NW-T communicate (HDMi-RJ45) ?

The PWD Mk II does not support DSD over any input. Paul has said in the past that there is no easy way to change that.

It seems you can play music with the Lumin as a pre-amp, so why the PWD MKII
If you’re looking for a DAC, maybe worth checking out second hand Meitner or EMM

Here are my answers to your questions, based on information available to me:
=>1: The next PWD model (1-2 year away) will support DSD. How it is implemented is not yet known.
=>2: No
=>3: No
@coopers154 : you are right, I don’t need a DAC for the lumin and it is the way I use it today. My question was more for curiosity (as the PWD and the Lumin are sharing the same wolfson chipset) and somehow for test if it would work.

2/ so it means that the lumin Hdmi is not a i2s or the PWD Hdmi is not fully open to other devices different from psaudio ?
3/ why ? Because of plugs/connecting or not compatible in terms of protocols : the PWD is proprietary ?

Different protocol and different pin-outs. PWD is open, though.
Probably the Ayon NW-T is the same as Skylla?

This is all correct. There are a few DSD players that stream over HDMI but that’s not (as Frode says) I2S - despite the fact we use I2S over HDMI.
@ Frode : concerning the Skylla and the NW-T : i’m not sure but as it is ayon…it should be the same.

In my system, I have a BD player and my TV connected to the PWD as well as the Bryston BDP-2 digital player.

The Lumin and the PWD lives well together, at least at my place.
Hello Frode, when you say that the Lumin and the PWD lives well, can you tell more : how did you plug the 2 devices together ?
From my side I have a Lumin A1 and in order to play DSD i connect the lumin directly to the amplifier. If you read only PCM, you can plug it through the BNC/Optical plug…

Sorry for the confusion. What I meant to say was that they live side by side. They are not interconnected.
