cannot do it since the Roon Core is in MU2, and I do not have two sets of the same cable/filter/switch setups. MU2 does not have WIFI ability.
This morning PMG streamer disappeared without me changing anything in Roon. I needed to reboot and waited for a few minutes for it to show up. That’s a good news since my original one would take hours. But MU2 is always there. Has anyone else experienced PMG streamer issue today?
I shutdown everything for a week, and hopefully everything will be turned on without issue when we come back from vacation.![]()
I have Stack Audio products under all my components including my Puritan Power Conditioner (had some spare after selling a component) and they all add something (mileage varies - but still some subtle shifts). If you want real bang for buck and have subwoofers - the Stack Audio SW units can have a big impact (my neighbors like Stack Audio for curtailing the unnecessary drive through the floor)
My guess is you may have had a network outage. Or maybe power outage and it comes back before the router / internet does. That happens to me. PMG does not recover well from these. But simple streamer reset fixes it. PIA.
I still wish, wish, wish I didn’t need binoculars to read the format/resolution on the 512 display.![]()

and where that redundant volume readout at 100 stares at me doing nothing … except taking up real estate where the format / bit rate etc. info could be
It’s fair to say, we made our point on multiple occasions. Time to step in for PSA to confirm they heard our message and accept the challenge to go do something good!

I am listening right now, via JRiver/JRemote, to a download that is essentially a continuous stream, albeit, with “tracks”. With my DS Mk II I am not getting gapless playback. If my memory serves me correct, Ted Smith said there was a “bug” in the software that prevented gapless playback. He was going to fix it at some point but development was stopped when the PMG DAC was announced. As such, no chance of a fix now. The question is, does the PMG DAC provide gapless playback? I find the pause between tracks annoying and would accelerate my purchase of the PMG DAC if it solved that problem.
Not really a reply but a comment. First off what an amazing sound after less than 10 hours burn in. However, just wondering if anybody else has found these issues. If I set a play list with single songs from different albums and different resolutions, the DAC can freeze, making a series of clicking noises and taking 3 or 4 seconds to start the song. Anybody else find this. I understand a few people have commented on the clicks at the start of a new track and I have heard this as well.
My PMG 512 is solid (after replacing the 1st that had different issue) and problem free, I never heard any clicking sound when changing songs.
Are you using Roon or a different app to control? Roon has had issues in playing Qobuz playlists with both my PMG 512 and Grimm MU2. The problem seems to be solved after the last update. However, there is another big update coming up next week that may screw things up.
I was having a good time! The music is back to excellent after two days of warming up, and it did take two days for that last 2% SQ to come back. In my system that last 2% makes all the difference between a ok sound and incredible sound.
I also cleaned all the connectors too. The music was so good that I turned up ONE scale higher from Gryphon D333, then I started dancing to the music to get some exercise (gained three pounds from vacation).
30 minutes later my wife came down and shut the whole thing down and told me she needs some quietness for the next two hours!
I wish I have a mancave sometimes. Well, I am going to take a walk alone now. ![]()
You skinny guys. I gain three pounds if I look at a cookie the wrong way.
Am still losing sample rate display if I switch inputs… and sometimes when I do a full powerdown from the back (required to fix sample rate issue), the display spins wirhout ever connecting to an input, in which case I have to actually do a longer powerdown and I usually unplug it for a bit as well.
Streamer is flawless now and Qobuz Connect sounds better than Qobuz via my Innuos Zen Mk3.
With Maestro even better.
There is a firmware with an alternative home screen launching soon showing input and sample rate (and not volume). It will default to this view when the DAC is set to a fixed volume level in the menu settings
It has taken a long while for this “new” firmware upgrade to be actioned on/introduced.
Many users were calling for this 12 months ago!
Thanks Chris - that is really great news - do you know if the Streamer firmware that will fix the UPnP issues will be released around the same time? Many thanks
Well, the UI firmware changes are separate from the streamer updates which are over the air. However, I would expect a new streamer release soon also.
That seems a bit of a stretch … The DAC wasn’t released 12 months ago. This thread started in October 2025, about six months ago.
Agreed. The timeline was shorter than that. However, the calls for display changes were almost immediate and numerous and repetitive and consistent. I guess it worked. ![]()
