PMG standby buttons

I have two PMG units: Transport and 512 DAC. Both well with warranty period. The swoosh symbol on both units is warring off. Has anyone else experienced this failure?

Yes. My 512 was one of the early ones with streamer issues that resulted in many resets. I don’t notice it any more

What does it mean if this logo on the 512 dac turns green in stead of blue?

It means you have to give it away to someone who doesn’t deserve it. It is the rule, right in the manual.

The light turns green during a firmware update.

I was told when the logo on 512 turned green, it means there is an internal error and the unit needs to be reset.

With my original order, I had this issue occurred almost daily and the streamer never worked correctly (took hours to find it from my network on every reset). PSA had to replace it with a new one, and the green logo only happened once after a power outage. It runs flawlessly now.

Thanks! This is making sense. In my case it was also after a power outage

I’ve decided to use the remote to turn on the units. Thanks for the responses. Other than that I don’t use remotes since my equipment stack sits around the corner, out of sight .

I wonder what changed from previous models. My BHK pre amp has been in use for 5-6 years and the logo has not faded. I am sure things are more complex behind the curtain, but from a user standpoint the old buttons should have been used in the new models
 hmmm.

Another QC issue IMHO.

PMG remotes do not need line of sight

Ooo la la. I’ll give it a try and see what happens. Thanks kindly @JKWAustin

The standby button on my PMG preamp still looks brand new. That’s probably because I rarely use that button. Instead, I keep my preamp powered on 24/7. Something to consider.

Probably most of us with logo wear issues were using the button for resets. Using the button to but a PMG in standby (normal function) doesn’t do much-turns off display and opens output relay. Standby can be initiated with the remote “OFF”.

On my BHK, I use the front button multiple times a day - 6 years and no wear.

Both PMG and ARC remotes work from my listening sweet spot. I still need to get up to the change shiny discs or flip the album and turn on the ARC s-200 pwr amp. It’s getting me closer though.
