Problems with Roon and My Nucleus+

They tell me it works fine. The issue is my library. I’m with you. Seems it doesn’t work as advertised.
But I try not to expend energy on this kind of stuff and spew negative energy into my blood stream

Do they have published guidelines on how to arrange one’s library?

I get ya on not worth your own brain grief to challenge - I’m sure plenty of folks will want to buy

Not that I’m aware of. Just claims that it can handle anything

I am sorry to learn this. Please keep us updated on your journey.

I expect you came across this Roon thread before: How to Handle Large Multi-Volume File? - Roon Software Discussion - Roon Labs Community

Was interesting for me to read through as a sympathizer.

As you have a specific, deep focus, I wonder if the broad-spectrum and automated nature of Roon… which hinders a user like me who knows what they want to hear next and where it is… is right for your application.

Even just running Foobar on a Surface with USB output might be more satisfying.

Thank you Ill check the thread out.
Interestingly I tried to make my IMAC the core and things working well. Its only been a short time so we will see.
Is it due to the IMAC having more computing power than the Nucleus +?

It might not necessarily be computing power vs how the OS indexes.

FWIW, Roon Core resides on my iMac, which also hosts JRiver Media Center.

The iMac sends/controls music library content and subscription services’ content via Wi-Fi to my router; and the router serves my AV system via Ethernet.

My system is rock-solid in terms of reliability and performs quite well. I believe the Wi-Fi feed and the Ethernet Galvanic Isolation I have incorporated upstream of the feed to my DS DAC work together to make any concerns about computer noise moot.

The only practical issue with using the iMac to host Roon Core and serve music is that you have to figure out a way to keep the iMac from going into sleep mode.

I use an add-on app called “Amphetamine” to overcome this.

Thx for the tip
