PS Audio AirLens

I will have to get an AirLens or some other streamer, otherwise I will not be able to play the files on my network via the Mk II.

Even one would take most to previously unseen heights.

Absolutely love all this banter… Just sitting here on the sideline listening to my DSJ until all this supply chain crap resolves…

Those are nice looking amps. At one time in the past Luxman was referred to at the McIntosh of Japan.

I went back to my DSJ for a bit.

The difference is astounding. It’s almost like it’s a different song entirely.

Background is deep and black with the MKii where as the DSJ almost feels as though the depth has flattened and has a grain of film over it.

I’m surprised by how nice the DSJ still sounds. If I had never heard the MKii I would have remained quite happy.

I mean, you could pretty much say the last part about any product though. There are always alternatives for less (or more) money, and many of them will be very good. But that never stops an audio company from releasing new products. The market will determine the winners and losers. But yes, if a product is going to cost $2k or more, it better blow away $400 (iFi Zen Stream) and $800 (Holo Red) options if it is to be successful.

This part. Frankly, if I were somewhere in the PSA organization I’d have recommended that a Red have been purchased pronto once word of it came out. I’d make darned sure that a seeming $800 bargain couldn’t come close to an AL, no matter what pre-alpha or alpha stage the AL may be in. Beating the 2x and 3x competitors of course is always the challenge and brings great bragging rights, but in this case with technology moving so fast, these lower cost guys popping out of thin air could wind up eating the AL’s lunch!

With the streamer market growing so rapidly, that’s a really good point.

I need to hear the Red so I can decide whether or not it’s time to move away from Bluesound.

The problem I have with moving away from Bluesound is not being able to play music simultaneously in two rooms. We have a Pulse in the kitchen and the Node 2i in the living room. Sounds nice when both are filling the house with music. Of course this is background/cocktail hour listening and not the “critical” (whatever that means) listening so many of you do.

Their feet is often better than four. Both my Innuos and my turntable have three feet.

A few weeks ago I tried the iFi NeoStream, good improvement over the latest Bluesound Node. Just today, received the iFi Power Elite. I assumed wrong. This new power supply, rather heavy compared to that which came with the NeoStream or Node, was another improvement.

Sent the node back, will be keeping the Elite power supply for the NeoStream.

The Lumin U2 is an upsampling streamer to DSD512 and plays native DSD512. For that, usb is the only practical option. It’s really pretty straightforward.

The lumen U2 includes Leedh lossless volume control, which is one of their key technologies. So if you’re running a purely digital system, you don’t need a pre-amp.

I have a Mk II on order and must get a streamer, whether the AirLens (my original plan) or something else. Otherwise I will not be able to play my networked music.

I’m one of many Innuos users here. I have multiple-room audio and can do it with Innuos using uPnP. The AirLens has uPnP, I wonder if it will do multi-room to and uPnP device. It should do.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing too.

Yes, and a full Vivaldi stack cost over $100K which in some parts of the US you can still get house for what the Vivaldi stack cost.

I need to move to one of those places so I can have both!

As do mine, being that three defines a plane.

The U2 looks like it will be a great product, its new and don’t see it available for sale yet in the U.S. It appears it will be $5000 as it sells in AU for $7400. Im having issues with the Auralic G1.1 I just purchased so I’m going to return it while I’m still in that window and may pick up the U2 when available.

Get a Bridge II and soon after your MKII arrives we will make the Bridge2Box available and that will be all you need. Sounds amazing.
