I believe you are correct. The AL will not be limited in that way.
Depends on the connection. I have my Roon nucleus connected to a DS MK2 via USB and am very happy with the result. But if your only connection is via a network, then you need something that can accept a streaming signal – Roon or something else that Roon can produce – on the other end.
FWIW, I have a KEF LS50 meta wireless in my bedroom hooked up to Roon too. KEF promised imminent Roon Ready approval when I bought the speakers in the early fall. It didn’t come until late the next spring. In the interim I was able to stream from Roon using Airplay, but that’s suboptimal. The DS MK2 doesn’t accept a streaming protocol like Airplay, so that wouldn’t work. KEF caught a lot of flack for that. I confess I was pretty annoyed myself.
for simplicity…can the existing ‘non certified’ AirLens shown at audio shows now play Roon access to content, eg Qobuz?
those that saw and photographed the AirLens at a show may know if music was played through it from Roon or something else like local files or Audirvana
I noticed a certain head ruminant had “AirLens Beta” after his name. Does that mean the beta finally started?
Wishful thinking…
We shall see …
When???
Uh, that’s what I was asking in my original post …
Yes, invites have started. Get in touch with them if you think they missed you.
I just hope there are not only Roon testers.
I know you mentioned Paul, but replied to me … I’m not a beta tester so can’t do what you suggest. I noticed another forum member was identified as a beta tester so was inquiring on the status.
@Paul: did you happen to make a vid on presenting the all new AL to the world this weekend - and when will it be posted online?
Love to hear you breaking news!
Thanks for mentioning. I hope it works out well now! ![]()
I did not, though I did make a video over the weekend on other breaking news that we should announce this week. ![]()
Don’t mean to be a tease, but….
great, breaking news about to drop
Beta testers have AirLens in hand. Stay tuned for results as we FINALLY! Move forward.
Chompin’ at the bit to get mine ![]()
Yahoo!
Yahoo! Hope it goes quickly and smoothly ![]()
Latest Roon partners page does not yet list the AirLens, however the image at top of the page is an AirLens. So hopefully not too long for Roon Ready certification
