PS Audio refurbished online store

That’s what I would like. I would like lower pricing on refurbished equipment…That is what places like TMR are for

My best suggestion is if you are serious and want to pull the trigger on a piece(s) of equipment is to call PS Audio directly and do a little negotiating.

…and that is the buyer’s concern, how?

That’s my point. Who are we to judge PS Audio’s decisions on how to sell their equipment?

Quit causing trouble.

As a consumer I can call out a questionable sales approach. Questionable, as lower pricing would move the gear quicker. What they do to achieve a reasonable market response is on them. Some will see it as a fine opportunity, others may not. For me it seems the pricing is a bit high for refurbished gear based on their past sales event pricing, 30% reduction(s)

I already mentioned that lower pricing would be better from a purchaser’s perspective, but the part that no-one seems to get is there are other factors that enter play here. Lowering prices too much on refurbished gear would have a negative impact on sales of new equipment, and new audio equipment (and speakers) is what they do for a living.

Interesting discussion, particularly in light of past complaints PS Audio undersold the used market, thereby devaluing the gear held in consumer’s hands.

My initial thought exactly.

Dammed if you do, dammed if you don’t.

The interesting thing is that you can purchase a DS dac mk I for nearly $800. Cheaper than the Stellar Gold dac. Which of these two DACs is the superior performer ?

Being as im looking around at dacs and a pre. I would love to know diff in Mk 1 and Gold performance wise?

Where are you seeing $800?

I was wondering same thing. Closer to 1500.00

Looking at the inside of the stellar DAC I hope it’s the mk1 by a good margin.

Refurbished DACs:
DS Mk 1 $2,250
Stellar Gold $2,999
Difference: $749.
My apologies.

Hopefully, the PS Audio folks or someone familiar with both DACs can shed some light.

The Mk1 is much cheaper on TMR. They were going for 1500

I already have a modified mk1 and I’d be happy to sell it for less than $2250! I feel confident as is it will sound better than Stellar DAC.

I have not heard the stellar gold, and have not heard the MK1 properly connected through the I2S connection, so cannot comment on sound quality, but read somewhere that the Stellar Gold uses the 9038Pro chipset
