Another interesting thing that I have seen is the track duration up count or down count. I just opened the PST after having it sitting around for a year(waiting to receive the MK2 beta unit). It’s seems that some CDs tracks count from 0 to max duration. I’ve also seen CDs go from max duration to 0. To me normal is counting from 0 to max track duration. What is normal?
When I first got my PST, I was surprised to see that the track timing was counting down; I always thought it was normal to count up. After reading the manual, I discovered that the PST’s default is to count down, but there is a menu setting where you can change this (and I did).
However, it does seem very strange that some discs count up while others count down.
Counting down is much more natural to me, that way I know when the track will end.
I agree. One of the features I liked about the DMP was the progress bar, showing how far along you were in the song.
Ok great news will look into the menu to make the changes. For my setup it was disk dependent just don’t remember the combination, CD or SACD but the fact is that there was a difference. Will get back to you.
I like the progress bar and the count up and down on the display of the PWT.
You can also toggle the current/remaining time with the up and down buttons on the front panel control ring.
Thanks again for the follow up, looks like that might have been my issue. Will confirm.
