Qobuz Connect – progress bar and lyrics out of sync on AirLens

I’m experiencing a rather strange issue with Qobuz Connect.

When a track starts playing, the progress bar immediately jumps roughly one minute ahead. The music itself starts from the correct point, but the progress indicator is already showing that I’m about one minute into the track.

As a result, the progress bar reaches the end approximately one minute before the song actually finishes.

This also affects the lyrics display. Since the lyrics appear to be synchronized according to the same incorrect timing information, they are approximately one minute ahead of the actual playback. In other words, the lyrics are already highligtning lines that I haven’t reached yet.

The audio playback itself seems perfectly normal – it is just the timing information in Qobuz Connect that appears to be offset.

My setup is:

  • Qobuz Connect

  • PS Audio AirLens streamer

  • UPnP connection over Ethernet

  • AirLens connected to a Rockna Wavelight DAC

Has anyone else experienced this issue with Qobuz Connect, particularly when using a UPnP streamer? And if so, have you found a way to correct it?

I have experienced that before but not with the Airlens. On a Aurender A1000 for example it was very pronounced. It had to do with the home network hubs/routers syncing with the server. There was no fix. I sold the A1000 (100 and 150 had worked fine) switched to Eversolo then to Airlens…no issues. In your case it is perhaps a timing issue between products. I’m no expert here but yeah, it drove me nuts for a few weeks. Sounded fine, but all indicators were way ahead or way behind.

Try rebooting everything back to and including the modem then bring them back up one at a time starting with the modem. Also verify you have the latest Qobuz update.

Thanks. I assumed it was a bug in Qobuz Connect, as Audirvana (on the iPhone) and Maestro (on the computer) didn’t behave like this.

Your reply made me try an iPad for Qobuz Connect instead of the iPhone, and that combo worked just fine.

Eventually I’ll reboot the whole system, if I can’t get the iPhone to show the progress bar correctly.
