Qobuz / mConnect weirdness?

Is anyone besides me experiencing difficulty when playing Qobuz with mConnect HD via the AirLens? Sometimes it works fine. Other times I will navigate to the track I want in Qobuz, start it playing, and mConnect abruptly quits. In other situations I find the track I want in Qobuz, click on it, and it looks like it ought to play – but it won’t, it just sits there. The AirLens is feeding my DS DAC Mk 2 (but I don’t think that’s the issue). My Internet connection is very good overall – for instance, I can stream movies with no issue.

I think it’s an mConnect thing, all on its own. I use mConnect a lot through my iPad and in ear buds and it can just stop an refuse to play any more with no reason, whether playing from my nuc, or Qobuz

Qobuz has been saying their Qobuz Connect is about to released for about two years now and still nothing. I’m beginning to think it’s never going to happen. Sure would be the final answer for a lot of folks.

Thanks – I also use an iPad. I never have issues with mConnect when playing local files from my NAS, only with Qobuz.

You’re right. I find this strange since if Qobuz wants to compete with Tidal and others, they should get their app out. But who knows . . . .

And this is a primary reason for not considering an Airlens. Native to BlueSound, Qobuz has been mostly flawless. Does anyone understand why Tidal is native to Airlens and not Qobuz?

Because when the AirLens was released there was no Qobuz native app. There is now and we’re working on it.

I think I figured it out. I turned off my VPN earlier today, and so far the Qobuz/mConnect combo is working without any issues. I’ll update this thread if things go south again. (For what it may be worth, I use NordVPN.)

That will be it.
