“A little pain never hurt anyone”
My Gramps
One of my all time favorite quotes. It has a duality that has not been lost on me, the boy too learned something in the 7 year period.
Here’s a similar one:
Now that I am old and realize that I know very little I liked it a lot better when I was 16 and knew it all.

“When one door closes, another opens. Or you can open the closed door. That’s how doors work.” —Unknown
Trivializing other’s genuine effort dishonors them. (me)
I arrived at this in my years-long battle against the government to recognized its roll in causing Gulf War illnesses and its mission to abandon veterans. Though with intense and extreme personal cost and collaboration of Senator Jay Rockefeller and Representative Chris Shays and of 60 MINUTES and BBC documenting my mission, the errors were admitted. BUT, the cycle keeps repeating regardless. Soldiers and veterans keep getting trivialized…by government and the public.
While less tragic, I see a similar trend in many forum responses.

Please forget politics for a moment (every day)
From Ted Kennedy’s eulogy of RFK, assassinated…
“My brother need not be idealized, or enlarged in death beyond what he was in life; but be remembered simply as a good and decent man, who saw wrong and tried to right it, saw suffering and tried to heal it, saw war and tried to stop it.
Those of us who loved him and who take him to his rest today, pray that what he was to us and what he wished for others will some day come to pass for all the world.
As he said many times, in many parts of this nation, to those he touched and who sought to touch him:
“Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel.”
“On the first day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work. It is a day for you to blow the trumpets…"
Numbers 29:1
I thought that came from Al Hirt.
I have 2 1/2 hours for something to happen! A convocation?
“The one thing we can never get enough of is love. And the one thing we never give enough of is love.”
― Henry Miller
WORD
Convocation is a wonderful word.
I am in favor of any gathering with trumpets.
