Random Happy Horseshit

Maybe Ron and I have something in common, I stood to close to the campfire, :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

And your point is???

A Miele, that is some quality equipment, as long as it works (it should become old) hang on to it!

Nice grinder, nice countertop. Does the grinder work for espresso as well as batch brew?

Yes - I don’t make espresso myself, but you can see the little hole to the right in the base of the hopper that is the indicator of the position of the Grind. So it is almost all the way to the coarse end of the possible grinds, and that is a typical drip setting. Everything to the left of that is finer, so it can get very fine indeed. Not sure if it does it with the perfect uniformity some would require - but hey, its cheap-ish!

:cowboy_hat_face:

Iffin’ yer spoon don’t stand up in it, it ain’t done, son…

I still have a taste memory of my mom’s Maxwell House done in a percolator. Probably why I tend to like darker roasts ; )

How 'bout some more beans, Mr Taggart?

For what it’s worth, I love this grinder. I place the paper filter for the coffee pot right under the grinder before each pot.

@RonP - and quit your lolly gaggin around down there…

I like it when cheap stuff works.

My grandmother used to make cowboy coffee. Boil the grounds in the pot, let it stand, strain (or not), enjoy.

Don’t forget the egg.

You are right. Forgot about that part of it. :grinning:

And it was a long time ago. Funny how some memories never leave and a whole bunch of more important ones wont stay…

Well, depending on your espresso machine, the Capresso Infinity could still suffice. What I mean by that is, unless your espresso machine can reach sufficient pressure, a grinder that is capable of finer particles may not be necessary. The Infinity offers a pretty even particle size distribution. The problem is, it is limited in its “fineness” so if you do have an espresso machine capable of 9 Bar pressure, it will not go fine enough to create the proper flow restriction in the grounds bed. In that scenario, a Virtuoso would be the better option.

Thanks Jeff. What about the long term reliability and ability to maintain these different brands? One thing I’ll say about the human powered Hario - it doesn’t break.

Typical morning with some Dark Matter.

Got a book that’s fun for studio/recording geeks by famed engineer Sylvia Massy, “Recording Unhinged”. She does a lot of her own illustrations, and I thought of this thread:

“Craptop and USB” LOL

Right? She’s funny AND talented.

Are we having fun yet?
