My Sony D5 cd player lets me see the discs spin, but the sound quality keeps it disconnected from the system.

Yeah, it would be neat to cross that line from a collection to an archive.
However, when one curates an archive, don’t they need to have three of everything or is that just Star Wars memorabilia collectors?
