Years ago, I read about how some people can hear music through their dentures or dental prosthetics, apparently from radio waves. Sorry, bad joke, especially for a guy who has to give up his audio savings to pay off the dentist.
If he still has a few hundred bucks left, there are still alternatives!! Never give up!! Somebody in this forum must have some old speakers sitting around in the basement that his/her significant other would be glad to see them gone.

Used… I’ve seen the older 3.7’s go for as low as $1900. Of course, any model below that and a little older can be had for well below that.

Up to $1900 on the used market buys you some very nice speakers! You friend should be spoilt for choice. I’d be looking at what’s on the local Craigslist.
