No. I’ll have to go back and look for it.
Thanks.

Thanks.
This is a really good recording…right from the opening notes.
Listening to it right now.
I L O V E Honeck’s Beethoven symphonies. Particularly 5, 6 and 9.
This one?:
RSVP.
I’ve followed RR’s recordings since the '92 issue of Turtle Creek Chorale’s Testament album. Since then I’ve bought probably 8 or 10 of them, including some of the Honeck/Pittsburgh discs. They’ve all been pretty uniformly great recordings.
great fanfare for my room entry at parties
That’s the one.

Indeed.
Honeck’s 5th is the far better performance ![]()
There’s a sale on now:
FYI.
Thanks for the heads up Scott! Just before this sale started I got from Elusive Disc nine Reference Recordings HRx discs (which are exact copies of the master tape, most are 176.4/24) for $10 each. These should be identical to the download they offer. The HRx were released over ten years ago so they are very limited availability and (per References web site) only from Elusive Disc.
I have quite a few Reference CDs and LPs from back in the day and they all sound wonderful. Keith Johnson is one of the best recording engineers and his recordings are worth seeking out.
Any other recommendations…?
Sale ends today and I want to hurry up and see if I can sneak in under the wire.
Might be too late…
TIA
If you’re into orchestral music, I recommend ALL the Manfred Honeck / PSO recordings on RR Fresh (and Exton) not only for the sonics but because the PSO is an absolute tier 1 orchestra with possibly the best brass players in the world. Plus Honeck’s interpretations are remarkable.
I also have the following not necessarily for the playing but as system demo material back when I was into that kind of thing.
Fidelity is startling to my ears on this one:
Also good.
Fighting words, these. ![]()
Like others, I’ve attended dealer demos with recording engineers and I was lucky to attend an event when Keith Johnson was spinning CDs. He didn’t play any high-resolution files, just CDs on a Spectral (of course) CD player.
He was very open to 1:1 questions.
