I made an edit after you read it, I think. You also need to run the Classical RT60 on the other tab. :crazy_face: That will populate the N/As.

The speakers are tracking each other quite nicely. The valleys around 45 and 130hz must come from a room mode. You can’t get rid of them, only alleviate through speaker positioning, if they are bothering you.

Anyway, play a bit with room simulator module in rew. You can simulate the effect of different speaker positions.

I see differences on right v left. I will have a look at my Servo Controller. Seems to be off balance left v right


Your left speaker is a bit hotter under 100hz. In this region, the sound is very omnidirectional, so it shouldn’t affect soundstage or the center. If it not bothering you regarding the soundstage, I would just leave it be. I the midrange, that is the most important form sound stage stability, both speakers are doing quite fine.

Hey, are these valleys something I could fill in with subs? I have subs I use on my movie setup which i could “repurpose”.

But if you really want to try, dial a low shelf, q=1, frequency =130, gain=-3dB to your left channel. You can do this easily using roon procedural EQ DSP, applying only to the left channel.

Soundstage is fantastic. I just struggle with level for the low frequencies (problem of having too many adjustments…)

You could simulate the effect of subwoofers in rew. You should try positioning in the middle of the room and work from there. Not an easy task. Since 100hz is quite high for a subwoofer.

You feel too little bass?

Too much. On prior room (wider room) gain for low frequencies was quite higher (-2 db) on current room -9db.

I’ve done it as you can see here (but they still don’t appear on the window of the RT60 Model tab only in the RT60 tab) - hope you can read data from here too:

If too much bass, low shelf from 130hz, q=1, g=-3dB for bothe channels, and keep experimenting with the gain until the tonal balance is satisfactory.

If too little, instead of low shelf, a high shelf with the same parameters, and keep experimenting with gain.

Once you reach a tonal balance that is satisfactory, you will know what to adjust. Then you can move the speakers closer or farther away from the walls to get that same result. Or live with the eq and be happy!

Believe me, the improvements are significantly more noticeable than the ones I got from fuses and other tweaks but never at the degree we know a glass of wine can provide, my friend (especially the champagne I uncorked this evening!)

Another thing you can try for too much bass is dip filter, q=2, g=-2dB, f=250hz. Tell us which one you prefer

That’s a good analogy :grinning: I’m going to have a glass of wine soon, and forget about studying these graphs.

OK so I finally woke up and figured that my dips are where the LEMIM come in and those are on the mid/high wings. I relocated them closer to the front wall and the dips are almost gone!

Thanks for the feedback! Now i have to move amp stands etc to make it all pleasing. If my movie screen was smaller, I would have more flexibility.

It.seems better on the graphs. But did it solve your tonal balance (in satisfaction with the bass)?

Plus one for hoarding carp - there isn’t a visible floor corner, wall/floor junction, or bare wall without something leaning against it or hanging on it, anywhere in this room.
I am convinced it makes a significant difference :slight_smile:
