I received some answers/tips about the Grid Protector from my dealer after a visit here in Italy of a Schnerzinger representative.
The frequency range of the device is 50-100K
The SMPS provided is specifically designed to work with the GP, other alternatives (including any LPS) are not recommended.
The LED light is useful so they do not recommend to cover it in any ways.
I suggested to add a printed owner manual, they will soon provide it into the box of new products.
I suggested to provide a different Schuko plug for EU version (the current angled one is difficult to be inserted), they will consider it as a future upgrade of the product.
It is strongly recommended that dealers personally install the device for their customers, where possible. The ability to have the device installed by an expert greatly enhances its performance.
The EMI protector works best when positioned 1.2 meters high.
The Protectors and the Allocator communicate with each other through their own antennas, so proper placement of the different devices in various points of the room greatly improves their performance.
I had spoken to Mr. Klocke, the head of the whole thing, about an LPS for the GP. He said that an LPS does no harm and causes less disruption than a wall wart. Today I received the same measuring device as Luca and immediately went ghost hunting. The only points that the device shows red in my room are the WLAN router and the power supply including the DC cable for the Grid Protector. An LPS may help to eliminate this source of interference. Whether it can cause a difference in sound is another matter. Greetings Andreas
1.2M above ground is a weird location for placement. So, hang it between your neck and chest is about the right height. But when you sitting down put it above your head for the optimal music enjoyment.
This may be the best-looking setup to date in your room!
I am still not into schnerzy stuff at this point. I got other priorities to take care of first, even after taking care of many necessary priorities already.
Now the very obvious question is how much of a difference makes the EMI vs Grid Protector. From what I heard so far it’s recommended to start with the GP as it provides the foundation and obvious most potential improvement. But eager to hear the EMI is doing in comparison.
