Setting up Playlist from DMP?

I received the DMP this week and have gotten it setup and have been doing my initial listening today. Other than some issues with track management that others have described on DVD-A’s it’s been working very well for the most part.

The unit is registered, connected to my router and has displayed artwork and/or track info for some discs. My playlist on the PSA site is empty, however. Most of the discs I’ve played have been DVD-A’s or SACD with little to no data but even the one’s with it, Adele 25 for example, don’t show up. It’s completely blank under the Playlist heading.

I know it is a work in progress shouldn’t I at least see something in my playlist? Have I missed a setup step perhaps?

I see a post elsewhere indicates the Playlist server may be down. Hopefully I’ll be good to go when it’s back online.

I think Playlist is down atm. Other users are posting similar problems. I just checked my playlist and data is there but not the new cd I played last night - even though it downloaded tracks & art work from the disc.

Is the Playlist down again? I’ve played two CD’s, one last week and two today that haven’t registered on my ‘playlist’(I’ve been interstate all week). Both CD’s downloaded their tracklist from each CD but no art-work. My playlist isn’t registering anything new being played. The network connection is all lit up and the DMP screen say internet ok. SD card ok, settings screen reports Download cover art enabled.

just tried a CD I’ve played before which is registered on my playlist and I know last time the cover art displayed ok. Now no art and it didn’t register as having been recently played.

Any ideas out there?

Cheers Frank

Had the same problem, I gave the DMP a powerreset, switch off & on at the back. After that everything was working fine with “my playlist”

Hi Ronald,

Thank you. I’m just going through some checks, the unit responds to a ‘ping’ so I know the connections are ok. I’m making a 2nd copy of the contents of the SD card. I’ll switch power cycle the unit as you suggest also.

It’s working from our side.

Playlist is working as well as it ever does for me (does not know a good number of discs, if it knows the disc it will display track information, very rarely displays cover art). I am certain how well it works depends on what you listen to.

Hi Paul, thank you for the confirmation Playlist is up and running. I think I had a few glitches my end plus it seems that occasionally the DMP can lose the connection between the CD, SD and the playlist - as attested by Radio Seaside.

One more question if I may, after getting things working again this morning I played David Munyon’s Big Shoes CD. There are no files on the SD for this and it isn’t in the playlist. The track info was read from the disc but found no cover art. Played tunes - the track name is displayed along with the PS Audio Wave. However the disc hasn’t registered on my playlist. Curious, any ideas?

Hmmmm. I’ll have to ask Tyera. Maybe the data is having trouble getting all the way to Boulder from where you are? Or, perhaps they’re upside down? cool

Seriously, I don’t know the answer and will ask.

It likely has CD-Text encoded on the disc. This is the same type of metadata that is present on SACDs.

Likely indeed, but the CD should still have registered in his Playlist (as SACDs do and they all have CD-Text).

I have the same problem with discs not registering on the playlist. I thought this might be because at least three of the CDs I’ve had this problem with have metadata embedded on the actual disc. I contacted Tyera and Dennis and Dave P. got back to me indicating that they were aware of this problem, that it was not related to the embedded metadata and they were working on it.

Spoke with our engineering team and they believe there is an intermittent communication bug within DMP that the programmers are working on sorting out. Once we have an update, we’ll have this sorted out and fixed.

Thanks for the info and patience.
