SmoothLan network filter works with Roon Nucleus but not AirLens:?

I have a new SmoothLan network filter. My system uses a Roon Nucleus and an AirLens. When I connect the SmoothLan to the AirLens, there is no sound.
When I connect the SmoothLan to the Roon Nucleus, there is sound. But I think the SmoothLan properly belongs connected to the AirLens. Am I right, or has my thinking gone astray?
(LATER) Further investigation has shown that Roon cannot detect the AirLens if the AirLens is connected to the SmoothLan. (btw I also use an English Electric 8Switch.)
Oh well.

The SmoothLan limits output to 100mbps. Is this an issue for the Airlens?

That’s a great question, but I think it’s OK because of the following quote from the Smooth Audio web site:
“Limiting the SmoothLAN to 100mbps prioritizes signal purity and noise reduction over raw data speed. High-resolution music streaming, even at the most demand levels, typically requires far less bandwidth than 100mbps. The SmoothLAN is designed to enhance music replay and by capping the speed, the device can focus on noise isolation, jitter reduction, and EMI/RF interference mitigation for streamed music signals.”

Came across a similar issue in another forum recently. Stack Audio sent out a replacement SmoothLAN. I would get in touch with them and discuss.

Thank you! I’ll contact them.

I do not own the AL, I have a Volumio Rivo streamer, using the Roon Nucleus One, and the SmoothLan works fine with it. I also have the ifi iLan in the mix, no issues. Also, I use the LHY SW8 network switch, with UGreen CAT8 cables found on Amazon. The white box with the light is a capacitor bank, worth every penny. Passive, power in, power out, I think it is better than a linear power supply. It did make a difference in overall sound quality. I buy them on AliExpress, $56. I figure someone will ask, “What is that box with the light”?

Interesting, thanks!

I just picked up a few more of these capacitor units for my router and switches, along with two for the 48v powered amplifiers I use, one being the 3e Audio A7, which is a killer little amplifier for $300. Here is the store I bought these from, same store I used for the one in the photo of my streamer. These guys ship fast, usually have the items in around 5 days.
