Same for my Fidelium Speaker cables, sonically fine, but I understand a bug is floating around these parts.
Depends on who’s definition you are relying on.
I do like Fidelium XLR more than their speaker cables even though I had them longer. Somehow the entire line up with IC and SC together may not be the fit in my system. So, I get what you meant.
In my case I would keep the ICs and replace SCs. But I believe I need to replace them with something over $5k to get any meaningful SQ improvements, maybe even more than $5k.
Just landed in Honolulu not long ago, and I need a strong coffee to keep me awake. Here is like 2nd home to me almost since it was my favorite vacation spot, but Japan has taken over the top spot now.
I liked the Fidelium XLR’s and tried the Fidelium speaker cables. The XLR’s seem fine but the speaker cables seemed to hinder the performance of the system holding back dynamics and bass in my system. When switched back to the AQ Thunderbird cables I noticed improvement. The biggest clue is when the Fidelium speaker cables hindered the performance of the sakra v17. Again this was on my system and my opinion. Other system results could differ.
I think that speaker cables also sound a little different depending on the amplifier or the amplifier depending on the cable. Donald, if you still want to replace your amplifiers, I would do that first and then consider other speaker cables. I compared the Audioquest Thunderbird with the InAkustik LS 4004 Air. On the Michi power amplifier, I found the LS 4004 to be a little more pleasant, with a larger stage presentation. The Thunderbird were perhaps a little more accurate and slightly more detailed. Later, with the AVM mono power amplifiers, I found that the LS 4004 limited the dynamics. Then I heard the Furutech DSS-4.1; this gave me the benefits of Thunderbird and LS 4004 in my system. I heard that after the Furutech Project V1 connection cables (which are said to be very good), a Project V1 speaker cable will soon follow. At the moment I am very happy with the Furutech DSS-4.1; it has a natural sound, dynamics and offers a lot of detail.
I added an Akiko Audio Tuning Stick to the speaker cable. The sound seems a little more open. Maybe this will help against RF interference. There are also filters from LessLoss for speakers; these are intended to have a nice effect and eliminate RF interference. Oh, those optimizations again. We wanted to be satisfied.

After having the standard Cloude Grande on the Jays and MU2 for a while, I am updating my initial impressions with cables fully cooked.
Serguei wrote to me several weeks ago about power cables and said “the effects of AC cords are much trickier to predict than interconnects” and,
“in the same system, AC cords offer greater improvement than other cable types”.
Well, for me, the Sakra V17LE is still the king of any cable change, but the Cloude Grande is making some serious magic with the MU2. It has been very Sakra-like in quietly revealing more, with greater space and air.
The result is the distinction between streaming and cd playback is nearly mute ( I never thought I would ever say that). Physical media is no longer the
de facto standard and “live” playback is just as fun.
As for the Cloud Grande on the Jay’s. It’s nice. It’s better than with the Dragon, but not to the extent seen on the MU2. So, the unpredictability remains.
The bottom line is l now use streaming as an additional go-to source, not just an album reviewing tool. That’s big. Other than eating some of my own words about the second-class nature of streaming, I am happy to take a take an even bigger bite out of
a “hidden” gem.
I will leave my Cloude Grande AG on my MU2.
That’s the cherry on top of the standard Cloude Grande. Cable arms race!
