Nope! My son has ordered a deluxe box set of the last Smashing Pumpkins album, anxiously waiting for it and yesterday with a big smile on his face he asked me: “can we listen to it in the new room, I’m so excited?”
You can easily imagine my frustration when I wasn’t able to satisfy his expectations and quite embarrassed I had to proclaim “there’s something wrong in the system, we have to pospone the inaugural ceremony of the vinyl rig”.
Well the Ph-10 sounds fine to me and since like you my vinyl rig gets limited use it will stay in place and I don’t have to worry about whether it will work or not. Hopefully for you since the man who created the SPP is no longer available somebody else at PSA will know what to do short of you sending it across the ocean.
Thanks, haven’t you thought about a listening to the new PH-1000 Lite version? Less expensive than the PH-1000 and probably as much remarkable.
I agree with you, since my habits turned to digital massively.
Thanks Ron, yes checked and tried also on different outputs of the BHK Pre… Also tried different pair of cables. If I connect the TT directly to the Preamp, bypassing the SPP, I can hear music from the speaker (at higher volume of course but it was just an experiment to be sure that the signal from the TT was coming out correctly
Have you considered opening it up and looking to see if something is loose? I haven’t looked inside mine, but I assume there’s at least some cables in it.
I’m afraid you’ve exhausted the external troubleshooting. Given that there is virtually no wiring/connectors except power supply and front panel and they appear to be working it’s likely gong to need a trip to the mothership. With both channels out one usually is looking for an audio power supply problem. In the past when I’ve had my SGD back there they simply swapped ou the board to be able to turn it around quickly. I’m sure Paul will take care of you.
