Stellar phono preamp added bling

I considered red. That would have looked very good with the black chassis but decided silver was a better pairing with the line stages gold.

I have been thrilled with my Srellar phono stage ever since I added it to my system (silver). However, I jumped on the PMG preorder the day Paul announced the series lat spring. Given that correction must be made for the RIAA curve, I would think that is where the most and innovative improvement could be made. Such a shame it’s massively delayed now.

I hadn’t heard about the delay. Wonder what the problem is. Judging from their experience with the DAC, it’s probably a good thing to delay the release if all their ducks aren’t all in a row.

I put in a deposit in both the DAC and phono stage shortly after the announcement-wasn’t even on website, called in to see if preorder was available. My deposit was recently returned. Has an early preorder I was one of the first to get the DAC-it’s on vacation now in Boulder while my gold returns for another tour. And I don’t even need to A/B to hear the improvement the 512 makes. And as an aside, I am a firm believer in sticking with one brand, at least the likes of PS Audio. Paul often talks about taking prototypes to the listening room for evaluation and you know they aren’t evaluating a new preamp design my hooking it to a McItosh amp.

Vinyl is very much a secondary source in my system so I will be sticking with the excellent Stellar I think. That being said, I am very interested in what they can do with an all out PMG phono.

Was the deposit returned for the PMG phono? I hadn’t heard of the delay for PMG Phono - was it announced somewhere?

No announcement that I know of. Just a email saying because of delay, my deposit was being refunded. Yes just for the phono as I already had the DAC. On a whim 16 months ago I bought some gold and silver coins. Let me add the preamp. Didn’t spring for the transport as I just didn’t think they could make that much improvement over the previous with I2S out to the DAC.
