Thanks for the tip, Coastalcat. I wondered if disabling the WiFi function would work and finally had a chance to do it this morning. It worked perfectly. And yes, the UI conversation is for another day haha. I use an external streamer in my setup so no need to have WiFi enabled at this time. Just have to patiently wait for this issue to be fixed in order to get system updates if needed.

OK, guys. Our DE, Barry, came up with a sweet fix for the Strata problem introduced by the LinkPlay upgrade.
As normal, download the zip file, place the sing .bin file on a USB stick, insert in the rear of Strata (when its power is off from the rear panel power switch) and turn on the rear panel AC power. Let it do its thing.
Worked like a charm for me.
This is not the official release but it might become that.

Worked for me too! Took a minute to get back on the network (an extra power off/power on) and for the metadata to start showing.
So…what changes came from the LinkPlay update anyways?

Working for me too - although the APP itself caused a few connection issues but hopefully all is good again. Love my Stellar - so fingers crossed no issues for a long time now - thanks Paul, and Aussie Paul for his work around (Coastalcat) - whew - thank goodness we are all back on air now.

What are we supppsed to do if the firmware wont update? Ive tried every thumbdrive I have around the house and even purchased a new one thinking that maybe the others had some sort of issue. However, no matter how many times I re-download the firmware and put it on the drive again and put it in the firmware update port it never updates the firmware. The wifi is turned off automatically afterwards but nothing else changes, and if I turn the wifi back on the same lock up problem returns.
After not using my strata for a little - I encountered the same problem, and updated the FW.
However, not all is well for me 
After the upgrade, my speakers do not work!
Headphones work just fine, but unplugging them - still won’t get the speakers going!!
May or may not be related to the FW…
ANY ideas anyone?!
I am having the same problem, I cannot get this new firmware to load. I have tried different USB sticks, different USB drive formats (exFAT, apple FS etc) but the firmware will not take. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The two formats you list will not work. Be certain you are using FAT32 with the firmware file on the root of the drive.
Follow the directions explicitly.
